Sky Sports understands Liverpool have rejected two offers from Manchester City for defender Daniel Agger.

13M and 16M but should make another offer. Really looks like he's ready to leave. Would be a great signing.

Wonder if anything is ever going to happen.

Slowest Transfer window in history I think.

All because of the Euros and now The Olympics everyone wanting to wait till after them.

I say slowest in history, apart from QPR havent they signed like 200 players already lol.

Suprised Barca aren't all over him, he seems perfect for them, great defender and great on the ball.

Bit of a step up from Savic eh?!

Barca and Real rumored to be interested too but nothing more yet. Yeah, Savic was useless even against Malaysians yesterday. Crazy.

It takes brass balls, a steel cheb and no shame to pose for this pic.

same thing i'm missing i think

The fact that he dragged his feet for a move buggered off to Spurs for better things only to fail miserably and end up back at Everton spouting tosh like he's "coming home".
The whole thing has been embarrassing, Phil Neville's post match interview where he said this.... slightly creepy line

"When he was at Tottenham I don't think there was a day that went past when we didn't speak about him"

:barf:

Spain have been truly terrible at the Olympics this year. Isn't this the team that won the U-21's last year?

Team GB should have national quotas, says Martin Keown

Team GB can't live up to its name without including players from all four home nations within its ranks, according to Martin Keown.

The former England and Arsenal defender told MSN that Stuart Pearce should have been forced to include footballers from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Such a policy could actually have benefitted the side by bringing a broader range of approaches, he added.

"There are too many English players involved" Keown said in an interview at BT House in London. "We have three overage players, so we should have had three players from each nation, because I think there's a lot to be learned from one another."

Though the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish Football Associations have previously made it clear that they oppose a combined 'TeamGB', for fear of compromising their own national sides, they were prevented from blocking players from participating. However the non-English contingent is made up of just five Welshmen.

Keown added: "The Welsh players have been magnificent; but I would've liked to have seen some Irish bodies in there. We talk about the British Lions, and it's the characters you remember, and the personalities, and I know for one that there's plenty of personality in the Irish and Scottish and it's a shame they weren't involved."

"Olympic football is a little bit unique; I think that it's been seen as an opportunity to gather experience really, and then the overage players are used in sort of a supportive role...which is why I think we missed the point with David Beckham.

Martin Keown.... speaking sense.... I'm stunned!

looking forward to our game tonight, first competitive game of the season woo

Agger has said before he wouldnt play for another English club - then again Torres said that too - Can't really see him gong to city but if theres a £20mil plus bid it would be hard to say no, as great as Danny is he is very injury prone

In what manner? :ninja:

I think the hate on him is a little over the top but man, if only he kept his mouth shut.

most of the people arent even booing him because of the Evra incident they are just using it as an excuse and going along with the group, people were getting annoyed when I cheered for him and asked me why so I explained that I'm a Liverpool fan when asked why they were booing they just said "he is a prick/****/dick" which I can admit he can be a dick but thats because he puts everything he has on the field each game, sometimes it is misdirected, i don't think he is a horrible human being, lord knows Ive done and said stupid **** when caught up in something, especially somethign emotional. But i think alot of the booing is also because of how talented he is, think about the abuse Ronaldo got etc... now think about the lack of abuse (in comparison) that actual complete **** scumbags have received (such as Marlon King) there seems to be a relation between how much abuse you receive and how skilled you are

Ronaldo had some of his hate due to his talent but it was also becasue when he first came to England he was a big diver and he's cocky as hell. Suarez is also a diver and has the same petulance every time he doesn't get the call, plus there's the spitting, biting and WC handball incident that a lot of people dislike him for.

It's not so much the handball, it's the little celebration he did in plain view when Gyan missed the PK and then pretty much congratulating himself for it after by saying he owned the Hand of God now.

Agree, when it first happened I like everyone else thought it was an outrage, but in reality if it were England/Leeds I'd be disappointed if one of our players in his position hadn't of handballed it. If he'd just gone into the dressing room and celebrated behind closed doors I don't think he'd have got half the hate... although in the last minute of a WC quarter final it's easier said than done.
