Oh Van between the way you talk and your avvy, I think Ben Affleck should base his Batman on you! "Tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for awhile" you can't get more VP than that!

Moyes could have tried to bring Barkley from Everton. He's shown more potential in one game than all Utd's other youth players put together to date. Seems like a very good all round player and so young. I remember my mate telling him he would be England's best player in 5 or 6 years about 3 years ago but I've not seen him play a full game till now.

I agree that the squad was severely overrated, Fergie got miracles out of it IMO and what is really there is starting to be exposed, but Moyes seems to have zapped their will away as well. I think when you want to attract a top manger you need to give him a big budget to work with, we wont be able to do that if we allow Moyes to spend huge first in the hope he can salvage things.
True that Moyes has managed to get a poor squad significantly underperforming even their limited abilities while Fergie dragged out the absolute maximum from them. And it's a fair point. I think though if the board supervise the transfers to prevent any overpriced bungles like the Fellaini saga, and they are decent value players it improves the attractiveness of the club to the next manager even if it gives him a bit less flexibility. Now if as suspected the overseers are also incompetent then there's not much hope lol.

Damn, City down 2-0 to Munich already!

Muller 5
Gotze 12

Haha! :D

Gerrard out for 6 weeks, van Persie out for 4 weeks.

Great result for you coming back against Bayern at the Allianz! Going to be a tough draw next round but hopefully a sign that you can begin to compete at this level.

Damn I didn't think they should have played VP in the last match. This is going to make the Xmas period difficult especially if Rooney or Hernandez pick up knocks. And Liverpool probably need Suarez, Sturridge, Gerrard & Coutinho to be fit if they are to stay near the top. 4th place still on the cards though.

Cue the hordes of Fantasy Football teams dropping both RVP & Gerrard....

rvp out for up to a month. another example of moyes prehistoric training methods doing more harm than good

City are unstoppable at home in the Premier Legaue. 3-1 up against Arsenal at the moment.

Man City 6 - 3 Arsenal (Agüero 14, Negredo 39, Fernandinho 50′, 88, Silva 66, Yaya Touré 90 (pen)
(Walcott 31, 63, Mertesacker 90)

Great game!

Arsenal were nowhere near as bad as the score suggests and looked dangerous even when down by a few goals but City looked even more dangerous and consistently converted chances. Devastating on the counter attack.

Arsenal had 2 offside decisions go against them and a good penalty appeal turned down but of course City still easily proved they are the better team at home with another masterclass. Fernandinho was man of the match but it's difficult to single out City players as they were all on fire. If they want to win the title though they need to get 3 points in their next few away games. They have games at the Etihad sewn up.

Giroud had a bad day and Ozil is a class player but so far for me he hasn't stood up and showed that. There's been flashes but nothing really of note. Still it's his first few months here I'll give the guy time.

Blue mancs are crap away from home that will be their downfall.

Yeah, if they fix that they'll be champions but Arsenal have been ruthless in that area and while City keep dropping that many points in those games in comparison, beating the big teams won't be enough to make up for that.

Toon beating Southampton in the battle of the pretenders :woot:

Everton & Chelsea also take the lead in their games to keep the pressure up at the top.

Edit: 2 more goals...Chelsea 2-1 up...Palace not going down as easily any more! (Chamakh got the equaliser)

Absolutely corking game of Footsoccery between City and Arsenal. I thought Arsenal played well and showed good spirit, but across the 90 minutes I felt City were just too powerful for them and every time they mounted a fightback City went up another gear.

That's the big worry, Woodward seems completely inept and I don't think Moyes has the read of the market outside of the PL, I mean his buying criteria seemed to be PL proven players at the top of the list, we need someone who has more vision for us going forward.

Yeah, and further to that the PL is not the best place to get value for money. A manager for a top European club needs to have vision beyond any one league. All eyes are going to be on Utd's transfer activity next summer. Probably the most important in a long time and even thought they've started terribly every extra position higher in the league they can finish will make it that much easier to get foreign players thinking they are still signing for the Utd of old rather than a club that may struggle to get back to the top.

3 points down the drain, 3 more to go next week. The title tilt was decent while it lasted. Giroud as our only main striker makes me nauseuos.

you guys have been linked with Benzema again. Could get him if you bid £25m+. Will he leave though World Cup year want's to get games.

He can stay where he is, I don't want him anywhere near. I doubt Real would sell him anyway, as they are short in that department.

I didn't watch the match, but despite the scoreline were we emphatically thrashed and played of the park at almost every instant? All the pundits seems to think so, and I'm wondering if that's the case, or whether it's just them spoutingtheir immense hyperbole and disdain for us.

I wouldn't be too despondent yet mate, everyone is getting spanked at the Etihad this season, at least you put up a fight, us and Spurs sank without trace.

I agree, next summer is crucial for us, if Moyes is kept then I hope to Zod we get someone in to help us with transfers and scouting as it's clearly another weak spot in our set up.

Who would you like to see brought in?

You scored 3, had a good shout for a penalty and had a goal wrongly chalked off for offside. I'd say City always looked to have the edge on you and did overpower you for the first 30 minutes, but you kept coming back at them and created plenty, you just weren't strong enough in midfield.

Arsenal need one more attacking player and someone in defense to really take that next step. I still think they can win the league honestly as long as they get the job done against the lesser teams.
