The movie was pretty good. I enjoyed it, and although it wasn't as spectacular as the second film, it was fun.

I was bothered by the opening, though. The transition to the symbiote and Sandman themes felt forced and unnatural. I disliked how the "Uncle Ben" theme was ripped out, and the last bit was shortened.

First, let me ask you one thing. Did you like the opening? Or did you hate it?

To make the sound "flow better" to my own liking, I changed a few things around. I created what you can call an 'alternate' version of the opening, themes rearranged, and all. I added back the "Uncle Ben" theme and placed in the footage believed could have been used had that theme remained in Spidey 3's credits. A few parts were changed in pitch, and I used bits of the Spidey 2 Main Titles track. I also believe the transition would have worked better without the unexpected, dramatic changes in rhythm. If the theme had been recorded with this type of "thing" going on, I think it would have been awesome. Oh well, I still like what we got.

Edit: My original upload had a lot of audio problems. It's been updated with no audio issues at all. The transition to the part at the end (the swinging) should have had the 'web mirror' effect the rest of the opening had, but since I don't work at Sony, that's the best I could do. :D

Oh, and please comment on the audio/video 'recut' I made.

I loved the opening sequence. It's not as good as Spidey 2's, but that's expected, because Alex Ross' paintings are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I do like the Spidey 3 credits a lot more than the first film, though.

I hope that's not a link to a pirated video of Spidey 3 taken in a cinema....

Second that he opening sequence is great! Just like the others.

Yeah, the opening sequence is great. I especially love the music accompanying the ever encompassing symbiote overtaking it.

We're not allowed to post it if it's been edited? I didn't edit only the audio, but the video as well. Tell me quickly, I wish not to be banished.

Edit: By the way, the themes are awesome. I just wanted to extend it, and make a few tweaks to it.

Pirated video is pirated video, regardless of whether it's been edited or not.

Well, then, I'll remove the link from my post. Keep the URL, though. I want to hear your comments.

Edit: When the DVD comes out, I'll tweak it with official footage, and official audio. How's that?

The opening sequence with images from the previous 2 Spider-Man films?I thought that was a good thing.

The opening sequence was great. Parts of the track, though, weren't. It was missing a few bits, and certain parts seemed forced into it.

I liked the opening sequence, sure the other themes sounded "forced", but still interesting and different than the others.

I noticed the quotes around 'forced'. When I say that, I mean it doesn't seem to flow together without some sort of introduction. The second film's opening sequence flowed right into the Doc Ock theme naturally, without any unexpected sounds. Same goes for the Green Goblin theme from the first film. The third film had the high pitch just as the symbiote theme began, and the rhythm changed completely. That threw me off the first time I saw it. Then, as the Sandman theme began, there was that thump (which seemed fine), and then the pitch went up a notch, the rhythm changed once more, and it didn't seem to "flow smoothly". The themes are great, but they had these intros that didn't fit in with the opening sequence.

I loved the visual aspect, but the transition between themes, and the loss of the Uncle Ben theme are the only gripes I have about it.

I definitely preferred Alex Ross' paintings. But this opening was cool too.

I like it, it's not Danny Elfman it's Chris Young, two different people doing the same song of course there will be differences in style, even if one is trying to mimick the other.

The only thing I missed out of the theme was infact the "Uncle Ben theme. "
I thought the music flowed smoothly from one theme to another. The flutes that you edited out of your version begin the symbiote theme, to try and have it go from the high octaves to the trumpets sort of ruined it. And the way you tried to mesh symbiote and sandman themes doesn't flow either.

I enjoyed the opening credits. It wasn't as great as #2 though.

I can't say I hated it or loved it, because I'm stuck in the middle. It started out cool in the beginning with the original music. I liked the look of the shattered pieces of glass stuck in the webs too. The selection of the pictures were also nice. But halfway through, Chris Young's score started and it messed it up for me. The music ruined it. So I'm gonna say it was mediocre. My favorite was Spidey 2's sequence because it was very artistic, simplistic, and it got the point across. With good music.

Hold that thought. I'm going to rush back to my 'studio' to see what I can do.

It was the same thing than the previous but not as good. Then the movie was the same as the opening sequence. lol

Here How I rate the main title Opening Sequence of the spider-man movie trilogy

1. SPIDER-MAN 3 - 10/10

2. SPIDER-MAN 2 - 10/10

3. SPIDER-MAN - 9/10

I don't know about anybody else here, but every single opening sequence...the build up of the music, the flashing of the Marvel logo, and the web that shines from the top gives me shivers from sheer joy and anticipation. It's unmatched to me.

In my recut of the film I'm making when the DVD comes out, the only part of the opening sequence I'll be editing is the Marvel part. I missed the Elfman drums. :(

The concept and camera angles for the Spidey-MJ web scene was stellar. It was a perfect way to reintroduce the characters in a soldified relationship.
Conversely, the symbiote origin was one of the low points for not only SM3 but the entire franchise. An alien life form just falls out of the sky and attaches to Parker's bike? I could have written something better than that 5 minutes after waking from sleep.

Well I was kind of disappointed. For three years I prepared myself to hear the same opening as in #1 and #2. I imagined how I'd be sitting in the theater, waiting for the film to begin and then the wonderful opening would begin. I was really surprised when I heard the changed music.

But now after watching the movie three times I have accustomed myself to it. It's great, above all the symbiote theme. I just don't understand why they've included the Sandman theme. The openings of the first two installements didn't have the villain themes? or did they?

Cool opening sequence, but it won't beat SpiderMan 2's opening; Alex Ross ROCKS!:woot:
