The Dark Knight Rises The Opening Sequence.

Yeah, it wouldn't make much sense for a sense of the word for "rises" to relate to the title, since it hasn't happened yet, but they could make it work. But right now I can't think of anything for "rises" that could relate to the image. Possibly still use the smoke with a hint of white light peaking through.

How about this.

1. Opens with Bruce at the Grand Opening of the new Wayne Manor. It's a black tie event, everyone is hob nobbing. Bruce tells Alfred how he hates being around all these people. He then runs into a woman who reveals herself to be Selina Kyle.

2. Bane, who at this point is strong but not to his full abilities, is breaking into a downtown pharmacy to fix his steroid addiction, only to be apprehended by GCPD. He fights his way through a few officers but is eventually tasered and is rendered unconscious.

I think one of the key factors that will play into a spectacle filled IMAX opening is location. Obviously the skyscrapers of Chicago/Gotham showed off the IMAX muscle in TDK, so I would think another spectacular location (possibly international judging by the proposed filming locations) or a spectacularly sized person, wink wink Bane, would also show off the enlarged frame quite nicely. I do feel confident with so many new charcters potentially being in the film, the opening sequence will again belong to one of these characters as apposed to Bats. Though I could be wrong.

I agree. I'm positive the opening will involve one of the villains. The only way I can see Batman being involved is if the opening is the Bane/Batman fight scene.

I can easily see it now:

It starts in the normal DC and WB credits in black, and fades into the black background of a mountain side of the prison, raining heavily. It's pitch black with the exception of hazy blues in the sky and lightning strikes the air, and it brigthens in light for a moment: the lighting of the lightning and shapes of the direct rain and blurry mountain forms the Batman logo, and fades into black again with the "The Dark Knight Rises" titles going.....

*Eames voice* Then we bring in the big guns and have ourselves a little escape with Bane and his minions, if that's the route.

i don't quite understand this fixatition with lightning and rain some of you have... it doesn't have any thematic meaning to this series.

They're arguing about Bane, who at one point was Ra's choice for heir.

She loves Bane, but Ra's is going to exile him, because of Bane's dependency on Venom. Ra's thinks Bane's not worthy to be by his side and destroy Gotham.

Talia storms out, leaves, and takes Bane with her. Explaining to him what Ra's was planning to do.

Cut to a few years later in an abandoned South American prison compound called Santa Prisca. Bane and Talia have started their own faction of the League, but to differentiate it from her father's, it's called The League of Assassins.

Talia receives a message that her father has been killed by a man known as Batman, in Gotham City.

She knows now what she has to do, and she tells Bane. Bane gathers their army and tells them their target is Gotham and the Batman.

I think a jailbreak scene would be good. Maybe even switch between that and Catwoman carrying out a robbery (if she does that in this film, if they make her a 'criminal'). Like alternating between the two.

I was thinking bout the teaser trailer too, just like TDK where there's just quotes over a Bat logo. Have the logo being revealed through clouds or something, so the reveal is the logo bathed in light to symbolise the whole 'rises' thing. The quotes as something like;

TALIA: The city he loves, hates him. There is no better time....
BRUCE: Alfred, Gotham is worse than it's ever been
ALFRED: You can only do so much Sir. One man can only do so much. I've seen what this is doing to you. You're at breaking point Master Bruce...
BANE: Why do you inflict this upon yourself? This burden, responsibility?
CATWOMAN: My,my. What do we have here? I've heard about you...
ALFRED: Batman.....will be the death of you, Sir.
TALIA: Revenge is long over due, and you will pay.
BANE: Is your life so meaningless to you, that you put it on the line for these people, these cockroaches?
CATWOMAN: I know you. The real you. This is the only way, Bruce.
ALFRED: Sir, I beg you! Don't do this! He's not like the others!
GORDON: I can't protect you anymore! I'm sorry!
TALIA: You failed! Gotham has fallen!
BANE: Why must you be beaten, broken, to feel alive? Why do you do it?
ALFRED: He's gone. It's over.
BANE: Why do you risk your life for this city, and it's people? Why!! Tell me!!
........
BATMAN: Because only I can.

Of course that's just taking that rumour about Talia and the LOS into account. It's not great but would be an OK teaser I think.

That's true. Although I don't know why people are insisting on using South America. It isn't a necessity for the character to be in a prison there or for him to have a South American birthplace. But I'll admit, seeing South America in a Nolan Batman film would be cool and would fit.

but here are 5 voices... each having multiple lines... TDK's teaser had one line from bruce, one from alfred and one from joker... here its way too much talking behind a logo... you are telling a story here.. the tdk one was simply a message about the joker.

Batman then heads for the staircase door....'BOOM' it gets kicked down and batman is sent flying back because of the force the door was kicked down with...coming from the dark stair case..bane appears...batman and bane go at it..bane gets the best of him...holds up batman high in the air...and while batman is held up high by bane..he sees something out of the corner of his eye...and hears the words "this is for daddy" enter talia.....bane is ready to break batman...catwoman comes out of nowhere and the gotham police make there way on the scene.

Catwoman, bane and talia all flee the scene...Bane grabs talia and holds her as he jumps off the building but not before he looks back and says ' i'm coming for you batman!"

and boom we have our prologue that tops tdks!
