I’m interested in the new Spawn. And I’ll check out what they got cooking with Ali’s Blade.

Colin Farrell gives us a bit of news on how much Reeves is involved.

Sounds right to me.At the absolute earliest, I'd say Winter 2024. And that's if Matt essentially got the best case scenario on writing the script where there's no hurdles to jump through. Otherwise, it wouldn't surprise me if we get a traditional summer of 2025 date
Who Matt hand-picks to direct this is what I’m most interested in.Colin Farrell gives us a bit of news on how much Reeves is involved.

The thing that I’m really curious about here is what season are we looking at here? Is The Penguin a winter or spring timeframe post-The Batman? Or both. I’m guessing it’s that winter since it’s a short season and Colin mentioned how the story picks up directly after The Batman.
So what does that mean for The Batman 2? Surely you can do an Arkham show set during the cold, isolated months of winter or it follows the Penguin show and Arkham’s set in the spring/summer which leads to a fall or winter Batman sequel. I’ll take a winter film too.
If this is true, Zaslav lost his dang mind. Look like they just canceled Batgirl. They better leave Reeves’s batverse alone.

Maybe they'll put them on HBO. I don't have a clue what Discovery is doing and I doubt they have either. I'm afraid it's going to get really ugly for WB in the future.I’m confused about the “no scripted” line. Does that mean all of the Warner related spin off shows would be canceled? Aka Penguin, Arkham. Or is Reeves’ spin off ideas safe here? It’s just throwing me off. Especially with the sudden delay for the Penguin, makes me think they’re all being wiped out.
).The thing I keep coming back to in my head is this: Matt had the concept for the sequel with Penguin, rise of Scarface etc and Warner straight up told him “let’s do that as a tv show instead”. Which means the 8 hour version of what we could be getting next year (or not?) could have been a 2.5 hour movie.
So now, Matt’s sequel is basically the follow up to that idea. So my question is: What if Matt’s only a couple of months into his first draft (still working on Act 1) when hypothetically he gets the call about Penguin’s cancellation. What does he do now? Does he keep doing his thing with whatever new villains he’s thought up? Or does he start over and merge his current ideas with his original intention for the Penguin show?? There’s a way to take the “greatest hits” of the Penguin episodes, trim the fat, eliminate some of the side characters and subplots, run with the main Cobblepot/Sionis gang war stuff. Mix it into whatever Batman/Gordon details he’s hammering away at..
Yeah Matt said it on a podcast. Are these actual facts?
If so, this series would be less of an appendix than I thought and these spin-offs would actually be very much tied to the story of the films (which I'm not very sure about, I admit to being a bit stupidly conservative/snob about this).
And in that case, like you said, a cancellation of the series would surely mess up Reeves' plan for the sequel...
I just hope that whatever happens behind the curtain, the studio won't destroy its relation with Reeves and Pattinson and let their take on Batman took its time to developp to its full potential. The report about Batgirl being cancelled especially because it would lack "spectacle" is kind of a red flag to me...
