Most of them actually believe the movie will be massively different from the leaked script...They expect these massive dialogue changes to influence the movie, and even seem to believe Megatron gets an earth-mode???

There was an interview with some one from the film here on the boards. It was at another movie premier, and he stated that Megatron got an Alt Earth mode.

He was confused...Shia thought they were talking about Starscream from what it turns out.

Actually i heard the same thing, buy not from Shia and that was a while ago and if Megs indeed is going to be appearing by the last acts of the film (haven't the script btw) i really doubt he'll get an earth mode.

Back on topic: funniest topic title i've read in a while. I've also been reading the post at allspark and they are indeed an optimistic crowd lol. I expect changes to be made from the leaked script but definetly not drastic ones.

I'll read the script when the movie comes out and then i'll compare.

That's exactly what happens pretty much...and no, no earth mode.

The Allspark is not a far cry from the X3 forum here, especially with the "they won't kill Cyclops" nonsense.

It's called denial

Well, on the Michael Bay forum if you are a Transformer fan you are pretty much regarded as a mentally challenged middle aged loser.

I dont frequent Allspark... but I did participate in dm.net a long time ago and judging from the shady goings-ons there I wouldn't put anything past these guys.... here's an interesting article:

Editorial: Has Transformers Bought The Internet?
http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Editorial-Has-Transformers-Bought-The-Internet-3269.html

^wow, pretty crazy.

one of the comments on the editorial linked above mentions a bit about blogger Kneon Transitt and Don Murphy's personal attack on him. those who regularly follow news about the film probably know all about it but this is the first time I've heard of it and it's pretty shocking.

so is the image at the top of the Don Murphy message board, part of which reads "If you want to be annoying please try aintitcool or imdb where you belong." he's not very professional, is he?

Edit - Sorry I had to delete my little rant about Don Murphy, it went a little to far :(

I'm pretty sure Tom Desanto spoke of Megatron's earth mode during a video interview but I'm not sure if that idea stuck.

It's an old link. Kneon posts on DM.net and his opinions on the movie haven't really changed as far as I can tell.

I've been threatened with bannings on the Allspark, but have developed an underground following of sorts there....however no one else is threatened for making remarks except me...recently the "policy" over there has been changed to try to quiet me from revealing plot spoilers.

Coming from someone who's been involved with script writing. The leaked script is practically ANCIENT in hollywood-time. I suspect at least 50% of the script has changed from the time of the leak to the final draft.

It's so funny that people believe that a script will go that long with only a few minor changes....shows me they don't really know the process.

LOL.
Um, I'm sure there's been dialog added or removed. That happens even during filming. But I doubt the premise, outline, and plot have changed.

So you think they added the Ark, made the original crash 4 million years ago, gave Bumblebee a voice, made him small, allowed Optimus Prime to save the day and not Shia, made Starscream not-a-vulture, and made Megatron not a weird (Scott/Cameron) Alien soul-sucking creature-rific monster? Not to mention getting rid of Bernie Mac's character?

Oh, and got rid of the scan-at-will morphing. You really really really think Bumblebee doesn't morph himself ON-A-DIME from an old 1974 Camaro to a new spiffy unreleased one? You've got to be kidding me.

sets were built, images were being rendered at ilm, and the film was budgeted at the time of the draft we've read. also, every single piece of footage and set pics we've been shown correspond to parts of the script. the most changes we can expect are slight additions/alterations of dialogue and possible a scene or two with humans.
there will be no real changes to the structure, plot, or major events of the film. it's funny that someone so sure of himself and his screenwriting experiance didn't take these things into account when stating his opinion...shows me he's full of s**t.

Well considering all scenes reported and filled, everything in the trailer, everything "leaked" from set reports, and the dialogue scene in the "production diaries" directly correspond to parts of the script (oh and Murphy confirming that the script was on "lockdown")....I'd have to say, you're wrong.

That would be an amazing feat. To go that long without major adjustments to the script.

Again, I ask what are "major adjustments?" You're using a very subjective term don't you think? If by adjusted you mean dialogue and minor things, then I'm sure you're right. But I don't think we should expect to have the whole premise, outline, and plot changed.

  1. Are they searching for sources of energy to power themselves and their planet... not for some holy grail artifact (i.e. remove the entire Allspark plot).
  2. Did they crash on Earth 4 million years ago?
  3. Can they morph at-will to pretty much anything they want (BB Camaro scene).
  4. Will Bumblebee be a mute?
  5. Will Optimus Prime save the day instead of Sam?
These are all things I don't expect to change. And to me, they're what's most wrong with the movie.

All I know to say is try and keep up the good fight... Logic is lost on those of week mind.

I was just reading over some of your threads over there, and one of the stupidest things I glanced at was that one of them was trying to argue about was the point of the invasion factor of the movie. He was trying to argue that the Transformers were invaders in G1 as well. Man that has to be the one of the stupidest things to argue about especially when he is completely wrong. I guess according to him the cast of Gilligan's Island were invaders too.

Beware of Don Murphy and his goons seeding forums. I'm fairly certain Mr. Murphy has made it his personal mission to create "good buzz" a la Snakes on a Plane concerning this movie. I think it's part of his job.

So far, the only forum that seems legit is here at SHH. God knows dm.net and shootfortheedit.com sure aint. They aren't just "moderated," they're downright fake and manipulated.
