I know this question could be asked in a different part of the hype, but does anyone know when Frank Miller's Dark Knight: Boy Wonder is due? I heard rumors about February, but it's like almost April.

The never, the better, in my opinion.
I've had it up to here with Miller, and I don't care if I get flamed or not. The guy's lost it. And, *blasphemy*, I don't think The Dark Knight Returns is all that amazing.

Unnecessary mini-rant over.

the lack of respect is monitoring and hating on a thread called the lounge. tusi. chill zone. i dont give a ****. but monitoring a thread that is basically a party of drunk funny people, is quite hilarious.

Go watch the threads about PLZ PLZ TEH NO LEX LUTHORASZZZZZ good lord, i see more pointless threads on the hype these days that silly 'have fun' threads shouldnt even be a worry.

BATUSI LOUNGE F*** THE WORLD>

JStorm, JokerGrayson, Anita, Rocker22, MisterSocko, hell sorry if i didnt name u but i surely mean to.

TDKR is coming, and god dammit we need a legit lounge without these moderators acting like jackasses when they enjoyed it too..

what..am i banned now?

1. I didn't know I was acting like a jackass.
2. Just because my name's red doesn't mean I'm always a moderator.
3. No, you're not banned...
4. ...but you are proving my point.
5. Having a legitimate lounge requires regulars who actually participate regularly. And I don't think I'm scaring anyone away... I enjoy a good lounge just as much as the next person. You need conversation, not whining about me and the "old days", and certainly not spam.
6. JStorm loves me.

Dark Knight Returns I guess isn't as "cool" now, but it's still a landmark graphic novel considering everyone knew Batman from Adam West's version...

*regains consciousness*

The Dark Knight Returns isn't cool anymore?

*faints again and into a coma*

I mean without knowing the historical context, it could be interpreted as "just" another comic book. Like you'd have to know the historical context of Moore's famous works like Watchmen and V for Vendetta to truly grasp them.

Historical context? I know I can't be THAT old. 1986 is old now? I'm still under the impression that the Bad Dudes and President Ronnie just got through eating burgers together.

The Dark Knight Returns essentially invented modern Batman. It saddens me to see this generation dismiss it so quickly.

I'm afraid so. Hate to break it to ya. :funny:

Many on SHH were probably not even born until after 1986. :oldrazz: I certainly wasn't old enough to read then, let alone know any kind of historical context!

if people who were born after it came out can legally drink, it's old. but i enjoyed tdkr, tdk2, all star, and year one is my favorite comic of all time. can't wait for boy wonder to hit

I think Year One is awesome. Highly deserved of its love.

I just think Frank Miller gets a tiny bit of too much praise. He's talented, no doubt, but some people make him out to be the best writer Batman ever had, and that's nuts.

While I'm a youngin' and I was born in 1987, it doesn't mean that I just automatically can't "get" The Dark Knight Returns. I do get it. I just don't like it. It's almost like some bizarre David Lynch movie featuring Batman. It's like Blue Velvet for superheroes. It's outside the box and different, but that doesn't always mean that it deserves high praise. Southland Tales is a terrible movie.

The God of All Literary Genius' and some of the greatest stories ever written. :hrt:

YES!

Thank god the hype still has its spunk. Mod of the year = BAMF.

Its time to make that ****ing pumpkin burn again.

and that's why i hate alan moore

Meh, you love some, you hate some; the whole world's diverse.

Now call me oddly fashioned, but I put TKJ and Year One above TDKR; not that it's a great story, it's one of the best....... I just think it's a little over-rated.

Returns is and always will be cool. **** the haters. but not everyone likes that and year one. i do. and i would love for in 10 years or so, nolan and bale bring Returns to the big screen.

i was born in 86. yet tdkr is great. batman 89 was great. but i was 3 when that came out. the year should have no effect... every i know loves superman in what 79?

Miller did a good job with Year One and some of his early stuff with Daredevil, but I haven't read much of his other stuff to be a judge of the matter.

Batman has it's good writers though: Jeph Loeb, Grant Morrison (older stuff), Alan Moore, Paul Dini, Dennis O' Neil, Ed Brubaker, and Frank Miller too for the matter of some of Batman's Greatest Stories.

hahahahahahhahahaahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahaahhaahhahahahahahaaaaahhahahahahahhahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

jeph loeb as a good writer...too funny

i would have liked to see his superman interpretation atleast in cartoon form... wasnt his ending with supes and a supernova sun? thats awesome thats exactly what would happen.

Well.......... I liked Hush, CW:WIR, LH, DV, so yeah, I think he's pretty cool for those; shoot me. :boba:

there's one story between those 4 books. and not in the "it's all one big story" kind of way, in the "they all came from the same madlibs prompt" kind of way
