I cant believe i slept on it. after seeing x3 3 times i decided 2 pick it up @ the local shop and just got done reading it. i can see some parts in the book that movie was insprired by. the book kind of reminded me of astonishing x-men until i saw whedon wasnt the writer. i highly recommend this mini series who havent read it. i enjoyed it very much. cyclops was actually the star and not wolverine. lol. great book. peace

I actually thought it was pretty good.:) The only problem I had with the books was that it complicated the Phoenix storyline even more. This left many fans confused on Jean and the Phoenix Force connection.

i liked it a lot too. i think x3 based the phoenix story off of endsong more then the dark phoenix saga

ya thats very true and it took alot of grants run on new x-men

Don't take this as insulting.

But when Jean and the Phoenix both say they are one in the same..I don't see how that's confusing?

It isn't very confusing at all. Only reaffirms what many fans had suspected. It meshes really well with everything from the original Dark Phoenix saga to the back up Classic X-Men issues to Grant Morrison's New X-Men and various other tidbits.

I personally couldn't stand it, but thats just me.

But then again, my signature will probably tell you what I think of Grant Morrison...

I didn't read it, plan to, but haven't yet...but I'm aware of some of the revelations in the storyline....I think it's confusing in the sense that the Phoenix saga has become convoluted...yeah, initially it might have been cut and dry, but all the tweaking that's happened over the years has kind of left me burnt out. In general, I just don't do well with these cosmic entity-inspired storylines. So Jean went from being the Phoenix - to the Phoenix using Jean as a template - to Jean being the Phoenix again...and was pre-destined to be the Phoenix's avatar. I guess I really need to read this and hope the series clears things up instead of makes them more technical and complicated.

I love this book soooo much. The art and the story were amazing. Kitty and Emma were classic in their little disputes.

Them's the funny papers for ya.

I read it and enjoyed it...I give it a 8 out of 10...the artwork is awesome!!

The art was truly outstanding, I loved the art... but the story... especially the ending... goddess... The whole "We love you Jean"... it's the corniest stuff I've ever read. The only good thing in the entire series? Ororo threatening the Shi'ar "Are you gonna help us or should I tear this ship from the skies?"

I hated the fact that Rachel was not a part of the cast. She's been crying about her mum ever since she returned and they don't call her when she comes back??? Lame, very lame not to include Rachel. Also, Scott's reasons not to bring Colossus??? "He pulled his punch last time??" FYI SUMMERS: ya all did! It was truly one of the most senseless stories I read last year. Totally unnecesary.

I loved it. It was my favorite miniseries of 2005. Beautiful art, amazing storyline, excellent characterizations and dialogue, and great action scenes. One of my favorite moments wasn't with Jean, actually, but with Kitty and Emma.

For some odd reason people think that Jean and the Phoenix Force have been together forever. Which is not true, the Pheonix Force has been around since before the dawn of the 616 universe.

The Phoenix Force is an immortal, indestructible, and mutable manifestation of the primary universal force of life, derived from the psyches of all living beings. While Jean is able to become one with the force she is not the originator of the Phoenix Force. The Phoenix Force is a totally separate thing that was shape by Feron’s dreams and can grant a portion of it's power to or possesse a mortal (ie... Prof. X and an alternated Storm).

that doesnt really make as much sense with the story :S

Right, but the Phoenix Force is just that: a force. It's not the Phoenix; it's not the avatar of the power, it's not the physical being which manifests to judge the world. Without Jean it has no personality, no desires beyond the desire to feel desire; that's how she and the force bonded in the first place. Jean and the Phoenix Force are two parts which make up the whole of the Phoenix. They might exist as separate "beings," but their true "whole" state is to be together as one.

Why not? The story kept going on and on and on about how the Phoenix was fragmented into pieces; that was merely just one of the pieces.
