Fant4stic The Positive Thread - Part 1

Okay. Let's see how this works. I'm trying to create this thread so people with positive comments can post them here. I would ask, respectfully, that those with negative comments refrain from posting them here. Let's also please avoid discussion of the rights reverting to Marvel. This should be about Fox and their effort.

And I would ask those posting positive comments to simply ignore any negative comments designed to get an argument going.

We're all mature people, right? We shouldn't need the mods to get involved, should we?

I probably won't be posting much in here because I'm not real thrilled with how things are going, but I think those who are should have a special place.

I'll start: Kate Mara was pretty good in House of Cards.

Have at it.

I'm so impatient, i want to see some official news for this movie already :(

Miles Teller has revealed what convinced him to sign up for Fantastic Four.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the Whiplash actor admitted that a combination of director Josh Trank (Chronicle) and sharing the limelight with an ensemble cast persuaded him to commit to the superhero film.

"If it was Spider-Man, that entire movie's on my shoulders and that's a more isolating experience," he said.

"I don't know if I would be into it, but the fact that it's a movie that I knew we'd share... the superhero world, that's a whole different animal. That's a pretty serious commitment."

I like Miles Teller. I liked him in The Spectacular Now and it's cool that they didn't get the prettiest pretty boy to play Mr Fantastic. The same with Michael Jordan, he's a good fit for Johnny personality-wise. Brash, arrogant, funny, etc, should come easy to him. And the same with the other two... summing up, I'm a fan of the cast, I look fwd to seeing them play off each other. These aren't "looks first, acting second"-type castings, the way it is in other cases. These guys are interesting, promising up-and-comers with a fresh vibe to them. Outside of this particular context, it would be more commonly agreed-upon that they're simply a cool cast.

That is all fine and good, but I was a fan of all those chosen in the first 2 F4 movies....and that didn't help when, though they were fine for their parts, the characters that were written for them were not the F4....

So, yes these actors are great in their own right, but that doesn't not mean they will be the Fantastic Four of the comics.

We shall see.....

They aren't going to be the fantastic four from the comics. I can almost 100% guarantee that. It's going to be something different but familiar that is trying to appeal to the masses.

It seems that Ultimate Fantastic Four was or maybe still is a possible title for the film.

Ultimate Fantastic Four would be a fitting title and of course differentiate this film from the previous ones.

I don't know man, Ultimate Fantastic Four and The Ultimate Fantastic Four sound such a looong title, it reminds me of the title of The Amazing Spider-Man. I want The Fantastic Four.

I guess that explains why they have never released even a logo if they still haven't finalised what the film is called.

We don't even know if they will end up using those, with BvS I remember that Warner Bros registered 9 different titles, then ended up using none of them.

According to latino review the first look at FF will be when kingsman is released in february..

Matthew Vaughn liked the movie: http://www.flickeringmyth.com/2015/...een-movie-good-like-chronicle-youll-like.html

"If you like Chronicle, you'll like Fantastic Four" excellent! Another positive thing to mention: when the first casting news came, everyone hated and insulted the cast for being unknown, but now all actors have done gigs you can mention them from: House of Cards, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Whiplash, Fruitvale Station, Snowpiercer, Nymphomaniac, etc. Not A-list or anything, but creditable actors that critics like => positive reflection on reviews.

"Matthew Vaugh liked the movie." Well, that's one way to interpret that I suppose...

Nails on the coffin for some of the nastiest rumors here. So Trank is still on board. No house-trashing or getting high on set. Nand the movie is still being released.

i dont have a problem with people that want the rights to revert but to attempt to drag trank's name through the mud is so petty

Don't let anybody else know these rumors are most likely confirmed as false...they'll think you're a FOX supporter and worship at the alter of FOX.

I don't get all the hate for Fox. They've had a regime change, and they've been on the up and up...pretty much since 2011.

First Class, Days of Future Past, Rise of the Apes, Dawn of the Apes, Kingsmen (getting great reviews so far), Chronicle, The Fault In Our Stars, The Wolverine.

They don't put out gold every time (what Studio does), but they're far from the worst Studio ever.

Glad to hear about these rumors being false :D.

This is called taking somebody's words out of context. Trank rumors were debunked (it would help if he Tweeted or did interviews) by Faraci. Doctor Doom still makes me skeptical of the film as does the word, "gritty" but the things that were the last straw for me were proven false. That's good enough for now. Plus, we're getting a trailer soon according to Latino Review.

I hope they poured rivers of sweat over that trailer. I still remember the great cooling effect the First Class trailer had, with that awesome JFK voiceover. A cool, evocative trailer will turn heads and shut mouths... a lame one - or even okay-ish one, like Ant-Man's - will probably be the nail on the coffin.

That is true. This movie being a grounded one, i think would definitely emphasize the fantastic elements by contrast.
