Once the election was decided, regardless of my feeling of the Democratic candidate, I decided, I am going to try to drop everything said and done.

He will start out with a score of ZERO
Not negative, not positive....

From here, I am going to try (we all know how we can get busy and not come back to things) to score our new President with every decision he makes.
+1 point for something I see as a positive decision
-1 point for something I see as a negative decision

I am not going to weight these in any way....that is too complex...all his decisions that I hear about, will get a positive or negative....

I will try to keep a running tab of each decision and we go to see how he rates to me...

For those that are reading that, this might be interesting if a few of you also did this.

We start this game/review, on Jan 20

On day 1, I will give my + or - on the cabinet he chooses....because this can be alot...I am not going to go heavy into it.

January 20, 2009
Current Score: 0

Secretary of State: Hilary Clinton
Frankly....not sure what to think here, I think it was a horrendous decision of his politically to bring the Clintons back, because this means Bill is back as well.
I don't know if she will do a good or bad job at all.
I am going to give it a neutral rating here.
SCORE - no change

Agriculture: Former Gov. Tom Vilsack
Dont know too much, but he supported genetically modified crops, and large corporate farms....not sure I care for this, as well to me, as a lack or REAL experience in the farming and ag info.
SCORE - MINUS 1

Secretary of Treasury: Timothy Geithner
Experience wise, I think he has it. Whether its good or bad. Should I go to discssing not paying the IRS? That really makes me nervous, as well as him hepoing organizing the bailout of AIG.
SCORE - MINUS 1

Attorney General: Eric Holder
Experience is there. Supported the Hand-Gun ban in DC....big negative to me.
SCORE - MINUS 1

Secretary of Defense: Robert Gates
Experience is there. I think he was a good choice to keep on, at least for the short term.
SCORE - POSITIVE 1

I am going to give it a neutral rating here. I cant rate what I really dont know about.

A Physicist, and a won a Nobel Prize in Physics in 1997. I think this is an interesting choice.
I dont know much about him, but I get a good feeling.
SCORE - POSITIVE 1

Secretary of Homeland Security: Gov. Janet Napolitano
Terrible decision, I think this woman is clueless in this arena....Because she is in an immigration state, does not qualify her.
SCORE - MINUS 1

Secretary of the Interior: Sen. Ken Salazar
He seems fairly centrist, and has experience.
I am ok with this choice.
SCORE - POSITIVE 1

Secretary of Labor: Rep. Hilda Solis
Experience seems to be there. My biggest concern, is she has been entrenched with the teamsters and labor unions.

I am downloading Obama's Speech again, to listen to it again. I was not the impressed the first time. I am hoping that I was distracted, or otherwise not listening, and it would be more impressive this time...I will score it in a moment.

Imagine what happened if we have had a presidential score thread on George W. Bush... :hehe:

One of those 3 A.M. phone calls Hillary was talking about. :hehe:

Nah. I'm thinking Obama should prank call Hillary tonight at 3am.

"Something important came up. I need to meet with you right now. lol. Just kidding, Hillary."
