The Previz Animatic Galleries

For those of us that have the UK 2-Disc edition, what do you all think about the Previz Animatic's they had?

I definitely think they should have put those into the movies. I really like these ones:

1. The Alternate Danger Room
2. The Alternate Fight between Jean and Prof. X
3. Angel Helps in the Final Battle
4. The Dark Phoenix Finale
5. Jean Rises From The Lake
6. Mutants Enter The Facility
7. Angel Lands At The School
8. The Alternate Angel Escapes

I thought they were really good.

Hows the animation quality, can you actualy cut it seemlessly into the film?

No, there were no Rogue ones. The only one that had Rogue was the Danger Room one.

No, The Ones, they are computer animated sequences, so they can't be put back into the film. They also some of them use the real lines and voices from the movies, while others ones just use stand in voices.

I'll try and describe each scene for you in my next post.

The stand-in black voice on the Juggernaut animatic was hysterical!

Okay, here we go. I'll do the shorter ones first:

1. Omega Mutants Enter The Facility
- This one shows a guard standing in front of the door to Alcatraz. Pyslocke unblends herself from the door and breaks the gaurds neck. Arclight and Qulls run up to the door, and Arclight uses her shockwave to break the door open, and the three enter the facility

2. Angel Helps In The Final Battle
- This one shows Angel flying above the final battle, and swooping down and picking up Brotherhood members, then dropping them out of the sky. Magneto uses a piece of car and launches it up at Angel, and knocks him out of the sky.

3. Dark Phoenix Finale
- This shows Wolverine at the end, stabbing Jean. She then begins to float and glow in the air as a huge Fire-Raptor erupts out of her body into the air and dissipates over Alcatraz. She then falls back down to the ground into Wolvie's arms.

4. Angel Escapes
- This was pretty much the same as in the movie, only before Warren enters, it shows some extended talking between Dr. Rao and Warren Sr. about how the cure of manufactured, and how it's coming along.

5. Angel Lands At The School
- This shows one of the students at the school looking out the window as Angel soars through the sky and lands on the terrace in front of the school.

6. Jean And Xavier Fight
- This would have been awesome to see on screen. It goes on as usual with Xavier and Jean fighting at her house. Only, in this version, Jean begins to float in the air and fire engulfs her and it begins to spin and swirl around her and Xavier like a whirlwind. She lifts Prof X up and begins to dissentigrate him with the fire.

7. Jean Rises From The Lake
- This one starts ou as usual with Cykes shooting the lake, and the whirpools starting, but in this version a orange fire glow emits from inside the whirlpools. Cykes is knocked back by the blast, and then it shows Jean landing in front of him engulfed in this golden light. Her whole body is like gold and looks to be on fire. The dialogue continues as usual and then it goes to the kiss, and the camera swirls around to see Jeans eyes turn the orange glow. Scott backs away and his face looks to be on fire, it cuts to Jeans horrified face. She then creates this huge blast of orange energy between her and Cyclops that knocks both of them back.

I'll describe the Danger Room sequence, since it's the longest and best.

Okay the Danger Room Previz. They should have definitely used this version instead of the one they went with.

It starts out as we zoom up close to a cigar sitting on a wrecked car. Wolverine picks it up and it pans up to his face. It then cuts to Colossus and Rogue hiding behind the rock. Colossus touchs Rogue and she metals up just as debris begins to hit them. They stand up and all three, Wolverine, Rogue, and Colossus begin to run towards the Danger Room exit door. It then cuts to Storm who is hiding behind a rock, she pulls out some night vision goggles and sees Rogue, Colossus, and Wolverine, running towards the exit. Kitty and Bobby run up behind her. Bobby asks Kitty how she's doing, and she goes "I'm a little dusty" to which Bobby replies by using his hand to knock dirt off her shoulder. She gives him a weird look. Storm then yells look out as three missiles head towards them. She uses her lightening to destroy one, while Bobby freezes another one. He turns around to smile at Kitty, as another missile heads towards both of them. Kitty grabs Bobby, like in the final cut as the missile shoots through them. They both then begin to run towards the door to the danger room. It then cuts to Wolverine standing by a car, smoking his cigar. Storm yells at him to look out, and she grabs him and moves him away from the car, just as a Sentinel foot crashes down on it. The group begins to run towards the door, and it shows a huge Sentinel hand coming out of the mist and shooting its metal rope, which grabs Colossus. It crashes Peter through buildings and debris in the danger room, before Wolvie jumps up and slices the rope, freeing Colossus and sending him flying into a collasped building. The group continues to run towards the exit, but just as they get to it, a rock slide happens, and blocks them from exiting. Colossus picks up the hugest boulder and launches it into the fog at the Sentinel as it gets closer. Wolverine asks Colossus to throw him up at the Sentinel. The scene ends just like in the final cut with Wolvie decapitating the Sentinel. Only in this version Wolverine doesn't say "Class Dismissed" he says "I'm hungry! Who's up for pizza" as he walks from behind the head.

The whole scene begins to dissolve as the team walks out of the Danger Room. Prof. X can be seen watching them from the look-out bay of the Danger Room.

There are no Rogue ones. She is only in the Danger Room one.

The X-Jet lands in Washington is an Easter egg hidden on the DVD. Go check the deleted scenes links thread.

And as for Colossus throws Wolverine at the camera, I don't know what you're talking about.
