If Sony can properly leverage the rest of their company with the Sony store, they stand to make a lot more money then Xbox live makes for Microsoft, even with Sony offering theirs for free.

EDIT1: The layout seems pretty decent, too blue though.

If Sony can get the third party woes situation squared away their online serivice will be totally awesome. It's matching and even exceeding Xbox live in some ways, they're going to have real dedicated servers and it's free.
