The show has taken a lot of liberties, but it seems to still be taking elements from the comics. So, Season 1 was Volume 1, Season 2 was volume 2, then Season 3 started from volume 3. What is the entire rate of adaptation from Volume 3 and 4?

Volumes 3-8 all happen in the prison. Volumes 5-8 cover The Governor storyline. Abraham shows up in volume 9, so technically that's where the show is at now.

So, that would make:

Season 1: Volume 1
Season 2: Volume 2
Season 3: Volume 3-8
Season 4 First Half: Volume 8 (There's even the Governor depatitating warning)

So, who's the next villain?

There's some minor baddies they run into before the next major villain comes along. His name is Negan. But I doubt we'll see him until season 6, if the show goes that far. It's too soon for him to come into the show now or next season so soon after The Governor.

I hope we get to see the cannibals this half of the season or next season.
