The Rebooted "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) Thread - - - - - - Part 15

Constantin didn't do anything but slapping their name on posters and DVDs and giving Bernd Eichinger producer credit for the Tim Story movies

I know/agree but some people aren't getting it. I was basically saying if they did have any real say in the matter (Which they don't), why would Constantin give Fox carte blanche to do whatever they wanted despite some of the OBVIOUS mistakes they were making, but then turn around and start stonewalling Disney/Marvel??

That. Makes. No. Sense.

I can barely contain myself! Can't believe the Fantastic Four universe is back home!

Congratulations to all the Fantastic Four fans who have suffered for so long. You deserve to feel what we Avengers fans have felt over this past decade. Christmas came early this year.

Omw to work I let out a visceral scream of celebratory joy! Along with a few choice words for Fox for they way they .... I'll be kind and say .... mishandled .... The Fanstastic Four license. :sly:

Speaking of which, I'd still be down for a World War II era Invaders film. The same film also had Union Jack in it as one of Cap's Howling Commandos.

I'd be down for that as well.

As someone who grew up loving the Avengers and the FF almost equally, I am selfish and want it no matter how spoiled the Avengers have made me :oldrazz:

Simple Simon will hopefully fit right into the unemployment line. He should not be doing anything at Disney/Marvel except maybe cleaning toilet bowls.

Donner is ok as long as she quits trying to push Wolverine for everything.

Yeap Kinberg should be gone. He’s going to screw up Phoenix storyline again that there’s no way Marvel Studios will touch it for another ten years.

Personally I don’t care if we don’t get X-men for another 10 years. I want a great Fantastic Four movie.

Heheh. Now it will hard to wait for Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer & Galactus news!

I'm so happy that our hopes and wishes have come true. Our persistence validated.
It's better than I expected.
I don't even care if we don't get any updates from Feige until after Infinity War. At least I can rest easy that the hardest part is done.

Icing on the cake would be if they announce that Simple Simon's second shot at ruining Phoenix will never make it to theaters.

Dang. I didn't think this would actually ever happen.

The deal's still got to go through some regulatory hurdles, though.

:woot:

Unfortunately the "Constantin owns FF myth" just won't die, but this wonderful sarcastic response to those still stupid enough to believe that nonsense made me smile wide :D

They did own the production rights to Fantastic Four, but now they don't. Disney obviously bought them as soon as the Fox deal was sorted.

The most amusing part about the Constantin myth to me has always been the people who would speak about it so authoritatively like they were the smartest guys in the room and knew something everyone else didn't.

It wasn't a myth, it was true. Disney must have bought them off Constantin Films.

They haven't owned production rights to F4 since the Corman film. What they had was distribution rights on a limited european market. That's it. Ever since FOX started making Fantastic Four films they have been the owners of the production rights, not Constantin.
Period, end of story, send it to presses.

Quoted and emphasized for truth.

Nope, I researched it and they owned the production rights. They licensed it out to Fox, who only had the distribution rights. Now Disney own both production and distribution rights.

You didn't research it enough then, lol. That's click bait. The guy who had the rights said openly in an interview he sold them to FOX years ago.

This is a good day. I was expecting Marvel get the FF back soon regardless as I was a skeptical that Fox was going to actually make another film, but I didn't expect that we would get the X-Men back as well until the rumors of this deal began. I'm glad to see that the MCU will start to truly become whole. Now Marvel just needs to get the full rights back to Spider-Man, Hulk, and Namor. Given the shape Sony is in, I really do think that Marvel will get Spidey back entirely soon. I'm not sure what it will take for Universal to give up the distribution rights to Hulk and Namor, but at least they can still appear in other films for the time being.

As this whole thread has been demonstrated the last few years, never give up hope.

Incorrect

What is the source of your research?
Have you seen any of the FOX F4 films? Where in any of the credits does it say Constantin is the production house?

As much as I like Thanos...THIS is my ultimate dream!!!!

The great part about the timing of this is it allows Marvel to set Thanos up as the ultimate badass in the universe... and then Doom can defeat him and Galactus can brush him aside and we can get some perspective for just how powerful those two can be.

Really bad news from a consumer point of view. Really don't like the Disney monopoly. But as a comic book fan? YEE HAW! Hell yes! The MCU just got WAY bigger and I couldn't be more hyped. Doctor Doom! GALACTUS! Just keep Deadpool as is, and in the MCU canon.

right there when it said: Executive Producer Bernd Eichinger in 2005 and its sequel, probably.
Still, I think they only hold distribution rights for wherever I live
