True that Disney's leverage over Sony has fallen with the success of Venom. I still hold out hope that there can be a deal reached that allows for right-sharing between the two companies, i.e. Sony can use Spider-Man (but not Tom Holland) and Marvel can keep using Tom Holland. Otherwise the only way we get them all fully under one roof is Disney acquiring Sony, which is highly unlikely (at least within the next decade).
I'm a big fan of the Fox acquisition, even beyond the X-Men properties because there is some stuff that Fox does very well. Disney is great at doing well on established IP, but have been lacking in launching new franchises (e.g. John Carter, Tomorrowland) and one-off genre films (e.g. Nutcracker, Wrinkle In Time). Fox seems to be able to do that better and will add much needed fresh thinking and creativity to a Disney machine that has been increasingly IP-centric and reliant.
