Were you disappointed that Alexander Pierce didn't turn out to be The Red Skull in disguise? The movie was good, but I think it would've been a fantastic swerve if Robert Redford pulled his face off in the end to add to HYDRA being alive and well. t:

I didn't. It wouldn't have come as a surprise. It would be like an attempt at humor that failed. Bad jokes are annoying, and big reveals that don't stun are too.

Take Star Trek: Into Darkness for example...

^Exactly. If and when they do bring RS back I hope they are able to keep it hidden as well as they kept the Mandarin twist in IM3 hidden. Otherwise it'll be near impossible to fool those who are already initiated(all of us).

Not at all. Ignoring that I just feel Skull has already served his purpose, the "Pierce rips off his face to reveal himself as the Red Skull" scene the fans seem to want sounds cheesey as **** on paper.
