Capcom The Resident Evil Thread

You should ask Capcom for that as I'm not even asking for a re4r right now. Though apparently Re2r sold very well for Capcom so.

I think RE2 made sense because the game came out so long ago and the games have changed so much. But I feel like RE4 is just sort of in that range where it makes so little sense because I feel like a lot of the games are going off of the design that RE4 basically started.

I still want to see what they will do with ultra-modern next-gen visuals. Even if gameplay won't be that different. I love cutting edge graphics. RE2R didn't replace the original RE2 for me and neither will RE4R.

I mean, they definitely want to play around with the RE Engine. Personally, the fact that Monster Hunter Rise is running on it is great news, because it means the engine is very scalable.

RE2R and RE3R sales made it possible. They game will be released in 2-3 years, most likely, if not more, considering they restarted development with an in-house studio.

I'm confused by the cutting edge graphics and ultra modern neXt gen visuals.

Aside from removing the bulbs and making the environment harder to see - RE7, RE2R, RE3R and Village have amazing graphics.

Like I don't think I can name so many games that had better graphics than those and RE7 came out 4 years ago.

I'm saying that it will be interesting how they will adapt the looks of the original using modern technology. Doesn't matter if it will be worse, similar or better than Village graphics-wise. Considering it comes out in 2-3 years, it won't be a multi-gen game, most likely. It will use everything that modern tech. has to offer. Probably including ray-tracing.

I mean, RE Engine is still pretty new. You need some time to fully exploit the engine. It does look to be a very versatile engine for Capcom.

Just announced that the game will officially support RT on PC:

Just started Resident Evil 7 this morning. Surprised I got a trophy for merely starting the game. :funny:
You obviously started very impressively, congrats! :cwink:

Yeah same here. It’s almost like a fetish for me haha.

If any game in the series needs a remake right now it's Code Veronica. RE4 is still excellent as it is, and I worry about cut content like there was in RE3R in a potential RE4 remake.

Why exactly are they cutting content when remaking the games? I will take every remake they throw at me haha. Code Veronica could definitely do with one but I would like 4 as well.

With Re3, they cut the famous Clock tower section, the iconic gas station cutscenes, Jill never entered the police station, I don't think Nemesis killed Jill's colleague, the park/sementary section in which there's a boss fight with a giant slug are missing, no Barry cameo, etc... I was so disappointed when I watched the walkthrough of that.

Thanks. Do you know what the reason for the cuts are?

I don't think they have given any reason for the changes.

The changes definitely led to a more lukewarm response to the game.

Re3 was my favorite out of the ps1 trilogy, so i was disappointed that 70% from that game weren't replicated in the remake.

As I recall Barry does cameo if you go to the police station without picking anything up first but it's a poor way to do that. I never got to the original RE3 so I don't know what else is missing.

Seems like an idiotic thing to do without a good reason given that the purpose of these is to target nostalgia for the original product. I had no idea they had left that much out. Was assuming something like 5%. :csad:

The remakes of RE and RE2 were pretty great, and I'd considered the former a perfect remake. There were some were some things that the original RE2 did better IMO, like a couple more scenes emphasizing the camaraderie between Leon and Claire. I also like what they did with Irons a bit moreso in the original. Still a great game though.

RE3R did have some good things about it though. I really enjoyed the Jill and Carlos banter. Carlos in general was pretty great. The hospital section with him was very enjoyable, and the lab...while short, had a sleek aesthetic and great escalating music.

I am thinking of Resident Evil 2 and conflating it with Resident Evil 3 and Brad instead of Barry. Had to Google it myself to see what I was remembering wrong. :o

The high-octane action of Resident Evil Re:Verse is getting an open beta, as well! If you missed the closed beta or simply want to know what the game is all about, this new open beta will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam from April 7th to April 11th.

I just bought the Origins Collection. All I need are 3 and Village to complete the numbered titles. I wish Code veronica is going to have a remake or at least a physical disc ps4 port, its not a numbered game butpart of the main games.
