So there are two potential Infinity Stones in play here:

- The Tesseract, which is currently locked away in the weapons vault on Asgard

- The Soul Stone, which is presumably with Hela

What kind of role will these objects play in the film? Could we see a showdown between two Infinity Stones for the first time ever?

Hela should have the Soul stone somewhere and it will probably be the main focus. I can see a credit scene involving the tesseract being taken.

You forgot the Time stone since Strange will be in the movie. Thor may ask him a question about the stones.

Don't forget that with Odin, Thor and Loki all absent, Hela presumably has control of Asgard throughout much of the film. Does that imply that she also has control of the Tesseract? Or did Thor and Loki manage to remove it before she got to it? Or maybe she hands it over to Thanos? I think the whereabouts of the Tesseract will definitely come into play at some point during Ragnarok.

Thing is will Strange HAVE the Time stone WITH him?

I think both are going to have a decent role but mainly the Soul Stone since it's the one that hasn't appeared yet. I think Hela probably has it in her possession and that's also why she is so insanely powerful. She is probably going to lose it somehow after the big finale.

And i could see the Tesseract/aka Space Stone also being used to trap some of the big villains. Opening some portal or something to get rid of Surtur and probably having Odin sacrificing himself at the same time.

Or Hela attacks Asgard and goes after the tesseract in order to open a portal so Surtur can come to Asgard and lay waste to everything. And i say this because Heimdall has taken off with the sword that opens the Bifrost and by that making it harder to bring in a army or something like that.

Judging by the credit scene I say yes. Unless Strange refilling the beer was some illusion.

I also don't believe he will leave it unprotected. It will be safer around his neck than locked away.

I can't remember, was he wearing the necklace in the mid credit scene?

I don't see why he'd need the Eye of Aggamoto just to refill some drinks. Pretty sure magic can create or transmute matter just fine, especially on such a small scale.

Strange wasn't wearing the Eye in the end credit scene with Thor. Makes me think like in some of the comics, he doesn't always wear the Eye

What is the Odinforce is from an infinity stone and no one other than Odin (or the 'true' ruler of Asgard) knows this?
Maybe Heimdal also knew, as well as Hela?

Far out, but interesting imo.

I'm thinking that perhaps this movie will have none of the stones. This could be totally stand alone. But I guess some kind of tie in to Infinity War is more probable.

Kevin Feige has already confirmed that this movie will have the biggest impact leading into Infinity War.

Ragnarok has to tie in to IW. It's the last cosmic movie before it.
It wouldn't be wise or smart not too pave the path for the following movie. GOTG2 was different because James Gunn always was adamant the it was going to be more of a self contained thing. Ragnarok is different i think. And i am also pretty sure that Kevin Feige hinted at a connection between both movies.

Yep. I'm sure it's even been called the direct lead in to IW, implying that the start of IW picks up directly after the end of Ragnarok and events that occur in Ragnarok will directly effect the events of IW, similar to how TWS was the biggest lead in to AoU with the collapse of SHIELD, e.t.c in phase 3.

It's a certainty that at least one Infinity Stone has to feature in Ragnarok, even if they decide to leave the reveal of the Soul Stone to IW, there's still the Tesseract hanging around in Odin's vault, and with Odin gone that means the whereabouts of the Tesseract has to come into play somehow.

Has it ever been said what happened to the Aether, which was the Reality stone?
The Collector had it. But I don't remember hearing anything after his unfortunate accident.
I guess it's to be assumed he still has it.

I'm having a hard time believing that IW is only 10 months away. I'm used to thinking of it as being years down the road.

I wonder if Thanos will gather all the stones together. We all assume that will be the case, but it doesn't necessarily mean it will happen. If he does, by what trickery is he defeated?

I think Loki would have used the Space Stone to bring the Hulk to the Grand Master, but I have a sneaking suspicion that we won't see the Soul Stone until Black Panther.

Why BP? It would make perfect sense for it to be associated with Ragnarok (with Hela) wouldn't it?

I agree. I think Heimdall has it. I'd bet money on it.

Edit: Actually, I won't bet money on it lol. It is probably too obvious, so they will do something else. I like speculating though. How exciting!

People have speculated for some time that Wakanda has an Infinity Stone, but I agree, I'm guessing we will see the Soul Stone here.

There was some Black Panther concept art that looked like some sort of strange crypt or spiritual place with weird orange light glowing in it, plus there's the comic stuff of Black Panther communing with the spirits and stuff, plus it would answer why the Black Order would attack Wakanda at all. I don't really like the idea of so many stones being on Earth though.

Yeah I think the refillable mug is a different spell. Like the beer is in a different "dimension" and when the user empties the mug, it refills automatically. Strange could even have the beer in a huge keg in his basement lol

One thing in the movies speaks against that and that's that the Asgardians do not want two Infinity Stones near each other. We know the Tesseract/Space Stone is on Asgard so they shouldn't want to keep it there if Heimdall has one as well.

Right, but if no one but Heimdall & Odin know about it. Also, It is said that the Tesseract is Odins most prize possession in his vault(Not those exact words). Maybe they meant two sharing the same space(In his vault)?

I'm just spitballing here, I'm sure I'm way off. Trying to occupy the time before this comes out :) Only 4.5-ish months left!

Can you please put Infinity War stuff in spoiler tags, because that's quite a major plot point you spoiled if true. I had no idea Wakanda was even going to be in the film.
