Captain Marvel The Rotten Tomatoes/Critic's Reaction Thread

I think it's they typical "neck beard" assumption. White, living at home, never knowing the touch of a woman......

If we're going off stereotypes, nobody (male or female) in this thread has touched the opposite sex.

I have a thing called common sense. That's enough.

That's not common sense. That's just rock throwing. Good job! Keep up with the alienating supposedly we're trying to move beyond!

It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes too long to figure out what is happening when the movie has more Audience Reviews than Infinity War does in a year. You can keep trying to take condescending jabs at me all you want, but there is obviously an agenda against the movie and people who are not offended by things tend to not organize mass campaigns of sabotage. Sorry if this conclusion troubles you, but to me this is fairly obvious.

I call'em like I see'em. You've raised this discussion to inflammatory levels and as a white male, I'm getting more offended as you continue to cast your rabid stones from nothing more than conspiracy theory.

Check out that Tweet, it shows 3 different bots on just one page. The proof is in the pudding.

You're trying to argue that there isn't an agenda out there to sabotage the movie's user rating? Don't be so naive.

I'm also a white male, and I too call them as I see them. I'm not going to prolong this exchange any further because it is not constructive nor going anywhere. Last thing I will say is if it walks like a duck...talks like a duck...it's truth serum.

As a white male I say this with all sincerity - knock this crap off guys.

As a white male I say this with all sincerity - get over yourself, you're being ridiculous.

White men who aren't gynophobic manbabies oughtn't be offended by observations like those in this thread because they ought to know they aren't one of the gynophobic manbabies being observed.

Post of the day!

Again more inflammatory remarks and now you're indirectly accusing me as though I have something to hide. More like I don't believe in casting a wide net - it makes you look foolish and a hypocrite. "Guys we need to accept all people and provide more lead roles for women! But all those white guys they're tha wurst!"

Yeah it's pretty clear that CM got review spammed by internet trolls. It makes it unfortunate because it's going to be very hard to gauge what the audience reaction truly is. Perhaps by the box office? I don't know. I just hate social media more and more every day.

'Captain Marvel' Now Being Review Bombed On IMDb

What a stupid thing to do unless they actually saw the film. What RT did was just as asinine and is what lead to this in the first place. They put the fan outrage into overdrive. But reviewing a film you've no seen the lowest it can go is just stupid.

This movie forum has been a blessing in disguise. It's exposed all the people I need to put on ignore on this site lol

If it exposed me as someone who won't stand for inflaming the entire population of white males - then I'm fine with that.

Always a classic though when someone announces their "ignore list" LOL #LookAtMe

I do hope that RT will go through and delete all the reviews that mention Brie Larson's comments on race/gender. Those are clearly troll posts and have nothing to do with the film. I wish people would put aside politics and entertainment. Not everything has to be political, I think especially today people are looking for a break from everything being politicized. Not to say that there shouldn't be films that focus on important issues (i.e. Shindler's list, Philadelphia, etc.), but a comic book film like this should be a place that we just unwind and enjoy.

Trolls gonna troll man.

What's scarier is how much stock people around here put in the crevices of the internet for opinions on movies. They worry too much.

Wow just read $20M Thursday, I think you can ignore the trolls, this film looks like a solid success.

Well stated! The politics are so heavy-handed these days.

I'm not saying inflammatory things about all white males. I am a white male and I am amazing! Just the idiots who do stupid things like review bomb movies on RT.

I agree with you here, but at the same time there have been movies I haven't intended to see but when I saw the critical/audience review, it changed my mind. An example of this was A Star is Born. When I saw the preview, I rolled my eyes and had no intention of seeing. My initial reaction was "another Hollywood remake", and I hated the '76 version, saw parts of the 1954 version but never the whole thing. When I saw the critical reaction and reactions of friends of mine, I gave it a shot, and I was blown away with how good it was. I don't think reviews should be taken too seriously but they can help a film gain/lose viewership, so when people review the film who haven't even see it, that's incredibly stupid.

I agree. We all get enough politics now-a-days. I want my entertainment to get me away from that, even just for 45 minutes or a couple hours.

I hope they do too. I went on there to give it a high rating (which I never do) but I saw a couple reviews complaining about Brie and one was something about "Captain Wahmen" :whatever:
