Yeah some do some dont, no doubt there will be plenty of people on here discussing this very subject over the coming weekend and there will be people on both sides.

Just read a twitter conversation between three critics who either hated the movie or thought it was fine but paled in comparison to Godzilla. One called it "dumber than" Last Stand. So that 94% isn't going to hold up.

You gotta love the smugness of that guy referring to how this movie basically rips off the Marvel movies' structure, and how audiences will "eat it up", well thank you Jordan Raup as you are the only human who hasn't been enjoying the kool-aid, you can totally be objective while at the same time educating us on what actually makes a proper cinema-going experience.:o

So a person who hated first class but liked this one just enjoyed godzilla more a person who hated the previous singer films didn't like this one but liked last stand and someone who thought it was fine yet dull means a high Rt score is doomed lol

none of those are RT critics. I just looked up their names and can't find any reviews from any of them. I have no clue who they are maybe just knew someone to get a screening invite.

They are writers/editors of some significant film websites (The Film Stage, FirstShowing, FilmSchoolRejects/RogerEbert.com). Not nobodies.

Never said they were nobodies, just they aren't critics so their reviews won't count. Who knows maybe they just really loved Godzilla. And other than Village Voice where is Nicholson's other review? It either could be the same one. They sometimes will do that for papers. And reading it it is more mixed than anything so it could be labeled fresh. I can't really tell.

Uh...

My main point was that there will be negative voices on this movie now that the critic screenings (as opposed to junket screenings) have occurred. It will all pan out over the next two days.

There were critic screenings last week as well. They do multiple screenings. And I would never think this only going to get positive reviews. I was hoping for mid 80s which seems likely.

Here's Amy Nicholson's Village Voice review.

Yeah I saw that, she usually writes for the LA weekly. It is weird to see an LA critic writing for a NY publication. I think someone must be doing the LA weekly review. Someone else wrote the Godzilla review for them.

It is a mixed review, not sure how it will be judged on RT. There are a couple 3/5 reviews on there that read like that.

C-3PO: We're doomed.

I'm sticking by my 77% prediction when it's all said and done lol.

94% after 34 reviews. It comes out in about 9 hours so these reviews have been really slow.

Well the big jump will be today and tomorrow. Most of the reviews don't post until Wed at the earliest. Godzilla only had like 30 something at this point.

The RT score is the more important one IMHO!

what does the IMDB.com score really say?

Xmen Origins Wolverine is rated the same as The Wolverine on IMDB.com

NOT SURE HOW????

anyhow, the others in series the critics got right.

It's at 94% on rotten. So far, 32 good reviews, and only 2 rotten. This movie won't go below 85%. There's huge reason to be plenty optimistic already. Stop being pessimistic, cause it makes absolutely no sense in this case!! The score, as it is, already says a hell of a lot.
