Basically, I want this thread to serve as a thread where people can discuss and garner support about concepts they really haven't been sure about, thus rendering them unwilling to put up an application.

Believe me, I've been there, and I think that if we all had one place to garner this support, we'd have an easier time of seeing if they're concepts worth applying towards.

DISCLAIMER: Remember, this is for concepts you have been thinking up. Just because this thread is here doesn't mean that everyone should be thinking up a new RPG... we have alot of them as it is.

I like this thread, it let's newer players voice their ideas. Which brings me to mine-the Rock Band RPG. I'll expand on it later.

I'd been thinking of doing some sort of H.P. Lovecraft-style horror game, but the more I started thinking about it, the more I started to think that maybe that sort of thing could be pulled off in another RPG:

Dan Ackroyd! Dan Ackroyd! *fangirl squeal*

Any guy who would wear a Ghostbusters outfit is a man I'd do.

Alright, so here's my ideas for a Rock Band RPG:

-App's would include name, age, main instrument (the one they usually play), any secondary instruments, and musical inspirations

-Once enough people have applied, a group of people can put up a band application. That app would include band name, hometown, list of members (with the instrument they play in parentheses), genre the band plays in, fan base: none, small, good-sized, or large, and status: just starting, indie, or famous. Once the band has been approved, the players can start posting.

-Each band will have their own storyline (created by it's members)-they must set up gigs, practice time, and if it applies, meetings with agents, record companies, autograph signings and public appearances. The season will end with a huge Battle of the Bands competiton, with every band getting one song to play. The GMs will grade the band's song and overall performance all season, and then announce a first, second, and third place winner.

So, what do you guys think?

No offense...but there doesn't seem to be much substance there.

I mean...this is why they created Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

I was a Ghostbuster for Halloween once :cwink:...

But in all seriousness, the Ghostbusters can already be played over in the Movie RPG if anyone cares to revive it.

I wanna give my "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" Application another go. I was gonna make it more like Andy C.'s Silver Age RPG in terms of 'leveling up' your characters, all depending on how good you did on the mission, how well it was written, and how many good decisions are made, you'll get points to unlock moves or make moves stronger. Plus I'll add my own elements to the story, and add a few characters to the roster. Any thoughts?

Y'know, with a bit of tweaking, ScarletVenom's rock band RPG idea might be pretty cool, provided we take it out of the "real" world. Anyone see the previews for Tim Schaefer's "Brutal Legend?"

A heavy-metal fantasy RPG along those lines could be a lot of fun.

This idea has been shot down twice already...wanna go 3 for 3?

If anyone can come up with a way to make a Highlander RPG work, please do.

It could be an interesting RPG to say the least. Being able to RP as not only a human, but pretty much any old school toon in a 1940's noirish setting.

Yep. Imagine.....

It was a night, as hot as any other I'd encounted. There was this dame eyeing me in the corner, she had legs that went on for days and blond hair that looked like honey. She was friendly, but her man was eyeing me for all the wrong reasons. He had a look in his eyes that told me he had done his fair share of brusing and beating. He slowly walked up to me, his nose sounded like a party favor weezing and he had two day scotch lingering on his breath.

"You got a problem?"

He pokes me in the back, my heart's racing faster than Jesse Owens in Berlin, but my face is as cool as the other side of the pillow...

"Ehhh...."

"What's up, doc?"

I had an idea for a Cartoon RPG for all cartoons, much like Video Game and Movie RPG. If something like that is made, I so call...

Peter Griffin......

Pure genius. :wow: :woot:

I do like the idea for the Smallville/JL RPG someone suggested, I used to have an AU like that and it worked really well, we basically had the JL verse where the guys all knew each other and added the Smallville background/characters, it was a lot of fun...

Also, I really want to play Catwoman again, she is so much fun :(

A sitcom RPG? think about it, nearly unlimited characters, and a chance for people like, George Costanza and Gob Bluth to meet.

I'm surprised no one has said a TV RPG.

Imagine Jack Bauer teaming up with Detective Cruz from Life.

I wouldn't be in, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned it.
