The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Scene Gwen Stacey Died - Part 2

I agree that the chances of it actually being Electro are slim, but I had never really considered that possibility before. I think it could actually make sense considering how sympathetic and tragic they've made Max Dillon. All he ever wanted was to be special and to be the beloved hero like his former idol. Anyway, the reaction certainly looks like it's for Gwen. I can't wait to find out what that white thing at the bottom of the screen is.

Heck for all we know they white outed whoever/whatever that is under Peter for the sake of covering it up.

The story of Max turning into Electro will be somewhat tragic, but once he's bad, he's gonna be BAD. No redemption for him. Foxx has said that he truly hates Spider-Man. I don't think anything will change that.

I also think that with Gwen dying, (presumably), the ending of the movie is going to be quite dark, and things are really going to be stacked against Peter. In sticking with that tone, it makes better sense for Electro to remain vehemently opposed to Spider-Man.

Hopefully that made sense.

Agreed.

Lol. If you are gonna do that, you might as well just leave that little clip out.

Yeah, that makes sense. I see your point. I was just trying to look at things from different angles/perspectives.

Hey, no harm in that! What else do we have to do while we wait for this movie to come out? On an unrelated note, is it May 2nd yet? :woot:

I think they leaned on the "grim/dark" thing too much. The new film looks to be somewhat more in line with the traditional Spidey tone though,so I have (tempered)hopes.

How was it grim/dark?

Sure the suit looked gritty and there was night time shots but that was it really.

I think he has a point (though I liked how dark TASM could be at times). Raimi's Spiderman had some dark moments, but those were always offset by the cartoonish world it was set in; his world never really felt that real, so there was always going to be an emotional disconnect of sorts with the audience when something sad happened.

Where TASM is concerned, Webb went out of his way to set up a very realistic world, so that setting impacted the emotional qualities of the movie much more for the audiences.

When Parker is bullied in 'Spider-man', it comes off as a little slapstick (which is fine, I think it worked in the context of that movie). Contrast that to TASM, he gets punched up by Flash and is left picking up the pieces on the floor with an accompanying music piece that is actually quite sad to listen to.

Not to mention, when Uncle Ben dies in TASM, we actually get to see blood, and Peter's hands are covered in it. It was pretty grim if you ask me!

Another reason as to why I enjoyed the movie.

Not only do you see blood (because we technically got to see blood in SM1), but it was literally gushing out of Ben's wound in TASM1 while Peter was covering it with his hand to try and stop it.

Interesting. I do agree that it doesn't look like Gwen's hair, and it does kinda look like it could be electros head. But I still don't think Peter would have that reaction for any one other than Gwen.

Interesting catch, the white-ish thing at the bottom of the screen during Peter's scream.

One thing to consider...

We know that prior Gwen helped jury-rig Peter's web-shooter with something from a car hood (battery or something?) to (assumedly) help him defeat Electro.

What we are seeing could simply be that device.

Or, looking really close at Peter's right arm, it appear as though his suit arm is torn. Possibly whatever that device did ended up burning away, or causing his shirt to tear, and we're seeing his skin.

I do agree it looks more metallic and seems to fit to his arm shape, so best guess is that it is whatever Gwen helped put on him from the earlier scene, prior to him fighting Electro, and right before Peter webbed her to the car hood:

Can someone find a pic of the scene where she is jury-rigging something to Peter's webshooter or arm? Not sure why finding that pic is so difficult...

At this point, it would be a major waste for Gwen to survive (yes, you read that right). The reason I say this is that if it turns out that she doesn't die, Webb and Co. Will have wasted a significant amount of time, energy, and resources to 'fake us out' for absolutely no reason.

Agreed. A fake out is completely unnecessary.

It seems a bit low on his arm, but the wrapped cable around his wrist could match. It does appear as though his sleeve is torn. Would he wear a white undershirt?

Although it doesn't appear that what we see at the bottom of that pic is this jury-rigged aparatus (by the position), my guess is that whatever Gwen put on him will lead to his sleeve getting ripped and possibly reveiling an undershirt, which is what we are seeing...

Boy, that really is a lot of emotion on his face. Emotion that would likely only come from losing someone you love!!!!!!!!!!!

In the shot of Peter crying, what are those white marks on his chest just above the Spider? Is that suit damage?

That scream is either for Aunt May or Gwen Stacy. And we know its not Aunt May.

This. Once Max is turned into Electro, there is no going back to him. We're not going to have a Doc Ock from SM2 moment where he suddenly realizes how wrong he is and helps Peter after the final battle. Electro is going to be BAD, period! Especially if they would want to use him in the future for the Sinister Six.

I can 99.9% guarantee you that Peter is NOT screaming over Electro's dead body. Just seriously sit back and think about it...

Just took that picture into PowerPoint and brightened it up. It actually appears as though there is a bridge to the left of the picture with building (you can kind of make out the windows) behind.

It would make more sense for this to be at the Clock Tower if it's Gwen, so now I'm not sure.

Which picture? Explain that a bit more?

Something is happening here… there is this grim look on her face.

Having blood on you hands doesnt make a film grim IMO
