The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Scene Gwen Stacey Died - Part 2

You may have covered this already Repulsor, but I just wanted to add my .02:

It is during the armored car chase, which is very early in the movie, that Max gets saved by Spider-Man. Now, if this scene were followed by the scene of Gwen on the date with Peter, and her saying the line about "would being late have anything to do with being shot at by machine guns," and this leads into the Times Square scene, which seems extremely likely, then when the heck did we see Max's backstory(stuff with his birthday, his mom, etc), his hero worship of Spider-Man, and THEN his accident? All of that stuff will take a good chunk of time to develop. So it's IMPOSSIBLE that there was ever ANY version of the movie that had only the armored car chase in the beginning and then the Rhino reveal at the end. There HAS to be two encounters with Aleksei in the first third of the movie, otherwise none of the other scenes make any sense.

Plot twist: Yurka snaps Laundry Sheriff's neck.

Don't be so quick to rule Yurka incorrect guys.

What evidence is there to support Yurka's claim? Cause with everything we've gotten so far, all evidence points to the contrary of what Yurka is stating. I like that line from Training Day--"It's not what you know, it's what you can prove."

I'm not attacking you, so please don't take it that way but until I see or am enlightened by something that is able to prove what he's saying, it's just a rumor or speculation. And bad speculation I might add since there's nothing to really support the idea or claim.

I think Airnick is referring to Yurka having provided a pretty big scoop before (Doc Ock's tentacles). So he obviously has SOME sort of credibility. We'll have to wait and see just how much once the movie is out.

All I've seen is a whole lotta evidence that would disprove his statement about the Rhino fight. And nothing to support it. [shrug]

That's fine. But the very fact that he proved correct with Ock's arms, an easter egg of all things, prior to anyone knowing about it shows that he is credible to an extent. It wasn't even a rumor. He just said it out of nowhere. Maybe he has a source vwho gives him info. I won't pretend to know the specifics. But I'm hesitant to completely discredit Yurka, despite Repulsor Blasts excellent posts challenging, and disproving, Yurka's Rhino claim.

Yep. As of right now I'm not discrediting him yet.

It's true he may get info from someone secondhand and that bit with Ock's tentacles is a possible representation. I'm not one to outright call someone a liar and there still exists the possibility he's right about a few things, but he doesn't seem to be right about what comes after Gwen's death and the ending of the movie. That's not what makes someone a reliable source. And while it's prudent to not entirely discredit what he says it's also very fair to hold the burden of proof as well.

so many kind words in here that have made yesterday worth it lol

thanks guys

as for not ruling out yurka, that is fair enough, but only in relation to things besides the rhino fight. if, nickoray and airnick are still of the mind that the film could end with the rhino park avenue showdown, then they are simply wrong.

other spoilers such as gwen and [blackout]richard parker[/blackout] should obviously be taken with a grain of salt, but yes, there is no evidence to disprove these two things.

just like there is no evidence to disprove there is a giant flying spaghetti monster, but I digress.

ps. if you subscribe to the anything is possible because it is a film argument, then, personally, you shouldn't be taken seriously. speculation has to be based in reality, it can't just be aimless. saying that editing could remove the elevator scene, or that the screen in the elevator was showing something else than what is in the final movie, are both laughably poor arguments. if we are to take such things seriously, then we may as well never post a thing. literally anything could change in editing etc. spider-man could be removed from the film. they could give aunt may a jet pack.

rational speculators will decide things based on facts, logic, and evidence. when there is none, then things become a matter of opinion. obviously, nothing can be known 100% when it comes to a film before release, but that doesn't mean you should remain agnostic or willfully ignorant when there is the right answer staring right in front of you.

also, dismissing something because you don't like it or would rather the alternative is true is irrational when there is evidence involved.

 yep, based on the evidence that the date scene in the trailer leads into times square (e.g. gwen's clothes), we can deduce that there is a relatively large gap between the chase scene and this particular date scene. like you said, we know there are scenes with max by himself. what fills in this gap? well, clearly scenes with max do. and what is one of these scenes with max? that's right! the elevator scene! and what is on the elevator screen? the rhino standoff!

again, the elevator tv screen reveal is able to explain peripheral truths/scenes/facts in tasm2. your post about max's backstory (cake etc.) is an example of this.

and in case people are still in doubt, the sustainability reel showed that the date scene in the trailer does not come right after the chase scene, and gwen cannot be referring to it via her dialogue because [blackout]graduation is after the chase, followed by the chinatown date scene[/blackout]

you gotta love logic. it washes away all the BS and leaves you with accurate appraisals of reality.

Well I guess we'll find out in a couple of months… does anyone have access to a time machine?

Well I guess we'll find out in a couple of months… does anyone have access to a time machine?

Well, I was drawing some concepts for one a few weeks ago. Just for a film my friends will be doing. It'll get built... but probably right after the movie comes out haha. :woot:

Why are so many on this forum right now digging for big spoilers??? Cause non of Us wanna have anything spoiled for us, do we? We just have a lack of restraint and patience, and we still wanna keep the "blood flowing". How do we do that? How do we keep building excitement around our selves? - By hearing about namely spoilers and story-rumors. Keep the hype at its, umm...hypest? That's what we're trying to do. But do we realize that with the same, we only lower the massive effect which an anticipated movie COULD have had on us? That's the result of having pre-judged things & scenarios planted in our heads (from spoilers and so on and so forth). Remember, we'll always see things in our heads how we wanna see them, when hearing about stuff. So if that stuff isn't executed within the movie like we saw it in our heads and how we dreamt it would happen, well, then we get disappointed.

The closer we get to release the more spoilers and stuff surfaces. If we could only not dig for spoilers, we'd be better off and have a much better chance of being surprised once seeing a new movie at the theater :-). I for one (as hard as it is, yes) won't spoil anything for my self. I already feel like I know too much - I hope I'm wrong.

Another thing is trailers. I always watch them. But if I could just fast forward and see the movie without having seen any trailers or clips prior, then I would. I think we all would.

Not sure what you guys are debating, Rhino (as in, RHINO... not Aleksei) definitely shows up BEFORE Max's accident.

Anyways, the green featurette had a few shots where the kid that dresses up as Spidey has a windmill science project thing... reminds me of something that was posted online back in December 2013. Now, I don't care what anybody says, but mentioning a windmill science project is a weirdly accurate thing... especially considering it IS in the film. The user states that they've seen a rough cut of the film, which doesn't seem too crazy. I know that some users here have also seen a rough cut of the film.

Spoilers inbound...

-The word "Goblin" is never mentioned. Harry Osborn becomes the Goblin creature, Norman does not.

- Harry does get sickly looking and there's some body horror to him, but he gets into the Goblin Power suit which attempts to heal him. The Glider looks pretty cool, I guess?

- I actually liked it a lot better than the first Amazing, so take that as you want. Whenever Spider-man is onscreen, it's awesome and spot on. They really make it feel like Spidey is New York's super hero, and I LOVED this montage they have of him going around NY saving people, including a little kid from bullies.
All he does is jump down and stand between the kid and bullies, bullies run off scared. He turns to the kid who has this wind turbine science project and he kneels down and goes "Is this...This is a wind turbine! Did you make this!" Kid nods, and Spidey fixes the project (which got broken during the bullies) with webbing.Spidey asks the kid "Can I walk you home?" Kid nods. "What's your name?" "Juan" or Jose, something like that. "Hey Jose, I'm...Spider-man."I doubt they'll cut that cause the kid shows up later in the Rhino fight and then compliments his science project, awesome.

- Peter is now a college student and freelance photographer to the Daily Bugle. Jonah manages to YELL despite not making an onscreen appearance.
Peter sends out an email to JJJ, he attaches some new pics of Spidey and an invoice, then adds, "I think you should consider that Spider-man is just trying to help people." He immediately gets a reply email from JJJ that just reads in bold all caps letters "WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". You read it in his voice, it SOUNDS (as in, that sounds like something he'd say/write) like him, get it?

- Harry is put in a position where he thinks he needs the formula.

- There is no acknowledgement of the changed suit. There's a funny joke about Peter turning all their laundry blue and red at some point. And yeah, there's OOPS MUH CARTRIDGES moments. It's actually kinda neat to hear him go "But my webshooters!" I love the Raimi movies, but it's fun hearing a comic-booky-word said out loud with all seriousness.

- Harry gets a more Goblin-y voice when he gets Goblin-y.

- Connors does not appear but Oscorp is dealing with the bad PR from what happened in ASM1. Harry makes a snide comment about him.

- The beginning fight is in the daylight, the EXTREMELY brief Rhino fight near the end is also in the daylight.

- Colm Feore is playing 2nd in Command at Oscorp, and Mr. Smythe, respectively. It was never made clear if BJ was he Smythe elder or junior.

- Ravencroft is basically Arkham Asylum. Oscorp experiments on criminals there. Or they lock up experiments they don't want the public to know about, like Electro.

- There's no high school scenes. They're graduating near the beginning of the movie.

- Norman does die from vague Osborn-Goblin-Cancer. Just as Harry looks sickly and weird at the end of the movie, Norman looks sickly weird and green when he dies.

- His heart stops and not comic book shenanigans happen to make me think he's not dead. Maybe it happens in the end credits scene, which we were not shown. Harry does not turn green. He looks yellow-ish SOMETIMES. But again, he's never called "Goblin" anything, he's Harry Osborn through out.

- Rhino does NOT have a big battle at the end. He appears at the end. But there is like 2 seconds of slo-mo shot fighting, then the end.

- Peter, in attempt to figure out a way to stop his webshooters from getting electrocuted and short circuiting (or something like that), tries to attach batteries to his shooters, so the electricity can get stored in the batteries and not break the shooters. The batteries keep getting overloaded and explode.

- So Peter and Gwen plan to overload Electro in the same manner until he blows up. They do so and Electro sort of, I guess turns into stone, or whatever and shatters into hundreds of pieces.

- Harry is already beat up when whatever happens to Gwen happens, and laughs at Peter. But they don't fight afterwards. I know, I thought that was weird too.

- And it's pretty clear if Gwen is dead or alive. If not in the scene itself, then the very next scene.

- There's an epilogue that involves the Rhino.
If you guys want to sift through posts, here's the source. archive.foolz.us/co/thread/56840208/#56842212

All this certainly ties in with the 2 Rhino fights thing that Yurka said and that supposed credits scene where the Man in the Shadows walks up to Norman's body and tells him it's time to wake up... and that could possibly be what the whole "Norman's head in one case, spider serum in another" thing was about from like last year.

Please use spoiler tags, bud!

Who was the kid on the plane if you don't mind my asking? And [BLACKOUT]the Rhino fight does take place at the very end of the movie?[/BLACKOUT] Also, how would you rate TASM1 and now TASM2?

There's a kid on a plane? And lol, I haven't seen the film, I'm just someone that saw these posts online. :P The guy does say that "I liked it a lot more than Amazing 1." So wooo! :D Also the guy does mention a slow-mo shot battle with Rhino, so the manhole bit in the trailer could be from the end mini-"battle" with Rhino.

Oh haha sorry, I skimmed your post to avoid as many spoilers as possible. I thought you saw the film for some reason.

Yeah, on imdb they list a kid who is supposed to be on the plane. IDK how true that is though.

The guy who posted all of those things in December, was that Yurka?

Ah, don't know about that. Might be a young Harry? And nope, some guy on 4chan.

- And it's pretty clear if Gwen is dead or alive. If not in the scene itself, then the very next scene.

- There's an epilogue that involves the Rhino.

In the link he mentions that flash is not in the movie, but we have set pics of him.

Possible that he missed him, or that he was simply not in the cut he saw... I mean, it was a rough cut. It's just the whole windmill science project thing. Who could possibly just guess something like that?

Exactly. And as far as Flash goes, he apparently is supposed to appear in the film for a very brief moment, so he either missed him or it wasn't in the cut he saw.

Just to note, studios usually have multiple versions of the film to show at different test screenings.
