I'm not sure why everyone's saying that's supposed to be Deadpool. Clarify?

First, it came out of imdb as a rumor (and, supposedly, a really lame joke that got a lot of laughter).
Second, we got the first trailer, with some guy with blades coming out of his arms, and the rumors began to spread. The Deadpool thread exploded with fury at the thought of Barakapool.
But it was only the beginning.
The jokes were weaker, now, but the fans were still trying to be optimistic. So maybe the blades in his arms were right. At least, they thought, he doesn't have laser eyes.
They didn't know how wrong they were <enter dramatic music here>
A couple weeks ago on the toys thread some pictures were posted that showed the train crash to be more than just rumor. There it was, clearly written in bold type: DEADPOOL. Inside the package was the deformed, marked-up, bladed, and laser-eyed freak you may see in the trailer before you. To shatter the united cries of, "TYPO!" or "FAKE!" was the back of the toy's box, where it stated clearly that Wade Wilson was taken by Stryker to "do his every will" as the ultimate mutant weapon--weapon XI.
There is little use trying to deny it (though many have and still do try). That . . . Thing in the trailer is Weapon XI, and it is also what was once Wade Wilson, and what should have been Deadpool.
Many fans have therefore have fallen into shock, denial, rage, and gnashing of teeth. Others just stare off in the distance, eyes blank at the thought of what could have been.
Okay, I'm getting carried away (it's after 2 am over here, and I need to go to bed).
The point is . . .
