The Dark Knight The "See You In December" Thread

You're in denial. That is the Joker. They wouldn't have taken it down so quickly, otherwise. The bigger and more unveiling look will probably come in December.

What does taking it down quickly have to do with anything? It wasn't some spy pic that wasn't supposed to get leaked. They meant for us to see it. Besides, it didn't even really get "taken down". They changed the site, but the image is still all over the internet.

That said, it's probably real. I see no reason why they'd show us a fake image, then reverse it and give us something else later. Half the fanbase will be dissappointed because they liked the first one, the rest will be mad that they got worked up over nothing. Hell, some of the second half may have even come around to getting over it, and now just not know what to think. Bad idea all around.

Didnt the Joker make his first appearance in TLH in December?

man another surprise. i love how they're advertising this so far! its so cool. it makes the joker seem like hes actually alive and out there. :woot:

To recap for people behind the ball, the message "See you in December" originally appeared in a fake casting side. Now it's scattered throughout the hidden laughter at the now-defunct ibelievinharveydenttoo.com. Finally, 42 Entertainment (the company behind the viral marketing campaigns for Halo 2 and Year Zero has registered the domain seeyouindecember.com, so obviously they're the one's behind the the Dent/Joker website and whatnot.
Wait, what? Hidden laughter?

Sigh, I leave this board yesterday afternoon, and I miss so much crap! What the heck! :o

If all of this is genuine, then I cling to the supposition that WB are being genuinely anarchic; that they will shower us with red herrings and spoofs and fakes until some sort of grand unveiling around Christmas time.

You have a highly plausible explanation.

I'm guessing they won't give off majorly big exposure until December, when the New Year is ringing in and we get to hear (and possibly see) The Joker in his fully complete figure. As another constituent, Batman news will be circulating at its highest peak as well.

My prediction is a full trailer in December, but we'll see a teaser this summer and small tidbits here and there.

Gill Said Teaser With Potter

So it would be possible to Warner to give us a fake image, just as another Joke from the Joker...hmmmmm it's not entirely senseless, seeing the fake sides.

Interesting. I think it's a trailer for December. Good TLH connection.

I take the see you in december to mean that's when we will see the Joker in a full length trailer. I think we will get a teaser in the next few months, but we won't see the Joker in a trailer till the end of the year.
WB better have something good for us at this years SDCC. :cmad:

I dontsee WB going to all the time and expense to put up an elaborate website with Ledger in full make up just for it to be a test. Has anyone ever revealed their characters appearance to the world and then change it?

the sites are registered to a company who does viral marketing campaigns, if you think it's fake, you're a god damn ******

People aren't saying the site is fake but that WB is toying us with fake pictures. Like flavio said, sick jokes from The Joker.

See you in december doesn't mean that we will haveto wait until dec for a teaser.
WB would never do that specially since they already kickstarted the hype for this film with the viral campaign. This could mean other things, a teaser will probably come in july or maybe earlier. As to what's next who knows, but I think that as this goes the joker will maybe change sites more than once and will be leaving messages and propel us to play games and send us messages to unveil new things, which is the real fun part of it all. WB knows by now that the strategy is working and the hype is building. I for one like that they're doing something unique to promote this film and not the usual open your hand here's the goods marketing move. At the same time while we discover and unveil the new material we're given examples as to what sort of behavioral characteristics and style we can expect from the joker in the film.

Nah that woudn't be a smart move on their part. A lot of fans like the pic and they woudn't toy around with something like that. It would be counterproductive to release a different image and dismiss the other one as a joke.

Everyone has different Point of views over the pic but a lot of people like it. So imagine if it was the other way around, they released a pic of a much more classic looking joker and then they come and give us the one we have now saying that the classic looking one was a prank.

What an uproar and huge disappointment it would be woudn't it? Then imagine it the other way for the ones who like the pic. WB woudn't do that. What it could be however is a pic of a joker stage maybe there's several physical stages(excluding the fear gas joker if he does appear that is) maybe after he gets gashed he covers it with make-up and draws the thinner more subtle smile thus turning into a more classic joker. We can't dismiss any possibilities regarding more than one look at this point.

What if we are being to literal? Well as Clerk Mentioned in the long Halloween Christmas is when Joker shows up. Not only that there are some great confrontations between Joker and dent (which this whole site thing seems to be about) as well as Batman and Moroni and Batman and Joker. We know for fact that TLH is a huge influence for the Nolan team, heck Chris Nolan even wrote the introduction for the special edition "Absolute Long Halloween" hmmmm

It's not a fake pic of the joker put up by the joker through WB you ******s. IT IS THE JOKER, a pic of the REAL JOKER from TDK, lol really, wtf?

"the sites are registered to a company who does viral marketing campaigns, if you think it's fake, you're a god damn ******"

You are the "god damn ******". Crazy isn't? Why would Warner Bros put their name in the links of the I Believe In Harvey Dent & Dark Knight internet, but not on this one? Simple logic.

Warner Bros. trademark all of their work, even if only with a name in their link. IBIHDT has no trace of any trademarking by WB, or anything that can even back up the fact that this thing is actually real.
