The Sequel Casting Thread!

OK, folks, I'm suprised no-one's made this one up yet (on the GR baords, at least), but I find these to be pretty fun. Cast characters for the next few GR movies...the stipulation? Explain how they work as actors/actresses in terms of the character. Don't just say "Wesley Snipes should play Suicide because they're both black." List examples of roles that prove that they've got the chops!

I'll start it off with Blackout, played by none other than Julian Sands:

Watching him in flicks like Warlock prove that he can do the arrogance and vanity of the character, and throwing in the braids would make the resemblance pretty dead on.

Ok, ok, he´s not actually an actor, but i´d love to see Peter Steele, lead singer of Type O Negative as Blackout.
He´s very tall, very muscled and very white, with long and very black hair.
And his voice sounds like coming directly from Hell ( just listen some of TON´s songs... ).
Julian Sands reminds me a little of Deathwatch.
Btw, cool thread, dude.

I've said this before, but I think Sigourney Weaver would be outstanding as Lilith, mother of demons. She can be icy and maternal, exudes strength and is, of course, a brilliant actress.

Deathwatch would be a decent sequel villain too. I could see Ralph Fiennes or Liev Schreiber in that role. They can do cold and menacing. And they look good in a suit.

There is no actor good enough to capture the subtle nuances and psychological layers of Paste-Pot Pete...no one!

I just got off watching the Lord Of War, and after seeing him act next to Nic Cage, I couldn't shake the image of Jared Leto as Dan Ketch.

I suggest Deathwatch played by the actor who i think actually inspired his look.
The one and only: Steven Seagal.

If you really want to call that wrestling, then yes, yes he is.

I could see Peter Steele in more of Skinner's role than Blackwatch's due to his size alone. Plus I'd really think Skinner is a character, with a little bit of tweaking to fit the movie continuity, could make an amazing character on the big screen.

And I hate the fact that Batman Begins ruined the fact of Scarecrow ever making the movies. A great character. Don't have an actor in mind for him yet, though.

Well, actually he can still make it into a Ghost Rider movie if the script is well written. If he was the star of the movie, like Batman, then we'd never see him. I'm sure if they added him in a Ghost Rider movie then they'd probably make him somewhat different than the Batman version we saw in Begins.

Well, the GR Scarecrow is a drastically different character than the DC version, so I would certainly hope so.

Even though he would probably never do it, I can almost imagine Ralph Fiennes doing it. He's a little bulkier and can do the so-crazy-he's-almost-sane bit pretty well. His portrayal of Francis Dolarhyde in Red Dragon for some reason made me think of Scarecrow. He'd need to do some serious work on his hair, but imagining him talking to "Trusty Rusty" seems pretty cool.

I would love to see a Giant Battle in Hell take place in a sequel (maybe not the 2nd, but possibly the 3rd) to GR. GR and the Spirits of Vengeance vs the legions of Hell lead by Mephisto himself.

As long as you don't mind ending up all broken and mishmashed like in the end of Annual #2, it's all good.

That's the sort of ending I'd love to see for the character.

For Blackout I think Julian Sands from Warlock, or Paul Bettany from the Da Vinci Code.

For Mephisto (if he returns for the sequal) I think Gary Oldman, or Bill Nighy. Or maybe Robert Englund.

And for Scarecrow I think Englund would be better suited for this role. or if not him than maybe Antohny Stewart.

You bring up Englund and I have to say, Wow. Great freakin' choice and I'm not just saying that because I'm a huge NOES and Freddy fan. Englund not only looks like Scarecrow, he definatly knows how to play the role.

I don't mind at all, believe me. I've been tossed around like a rubber screw doll early on in my career.

You're right though, that's the thing I love about Ghost Rider; he's the engergizer bunny. He takes a lickin... and all that ****. He is the ultimate terminator. Undestructable. A Juggernaught. Unstoppable.

^^^I think your Englund idea works pretty well. It'd be tough (simply because he's really getting up there, and Scarecrow is a pretty limber guy), but for actual line delivery and presence, he's pretty dead on.

I think it's cool you second my Julian Sands for Blackout as well. I think he's a drastically underappreciated actor.
