I'm not gonna lie, I created this thread to show off my new short that I'm really proud of.

But I realize there are a lot of fellow filmmakers on the hype, and this is a thread where you can just come in and show off your stuff. Short Films, Feature Films, Editing skills, etc....

I don't mean to hijack your thread but actually I was thinking about creating a topic that would be like an ultimate filmmaking resource pool for every aspiring filmmakers out there, where everyone would be able to post tips and how-to methods along with their own creations which we could then discuss together.

I am currently writing a rough step-by-step introduction to filmmaking that I'd like to post here if that sits well with you.

I liked your short, it's effective and funny. The only things that bugged me are the music which at times sounds like it's here to conceal the lack of sound effects/sound editing, and the camera work which was either top-notch (the first three times the character reappears at the start of the hallway with the camera going back to him) or very amateurish (lack of dynamism in the framing + I felt a lot of times that the camera moves were restrained by the set which is typical of student productions).

Did you do any colouring in post? It's a pretty effective way of hiding the "home video" look of a student film.

Good job on the effects though. They're very simple and thus very effective. I'm still in love with Georges-Méliès-type FX, no matter how obvious or simplistic some people think they are.

Thanks
I did color correct but some of it seemed washed out once I upload on to YouTube.

I liked your short,I'm currently in the middle of writing a script.I just finished writing the first draft a couple of days ago(completely handwritten .:sleepy: )It's very rough right now so I'm gonna need some rewrites.I used Syd Field's book "SCREENPLAY THE FOUNDATION OF SCREENWRITING".Which I found for $2 at a goodwill store.

Well I made a thread about my project - but I might as well chime in here too:

Making a Spider-Man parody webisode series. I decided comedy was the best route to go, because everyone loves to laugh and trying to "out drama" the Spider-Man movies won't end well. That and no one wants to watch you develop character online, they want something they can enjoy fast. I'd love to do a "Smallville-esque" kinda Spider-Man thing one day though.

Here's my support page:

More of my work is on http://www.youtube.com/kaldobsky

It's hard enough work to do preproduction on this thing, but it's even harder to get support without being really popular.

This is a music video I directed for some friends that came out a month ago. It's my first music video, and I'm pretty proud of it. I'm trying to get some work doing these for hire and wanted to get some feedback on it:

Fixed it for you.Just put the end of the URL on the video in tags, and it should work.

Cool Video BTW.

I may post a couple vids I've done on here soon. I've mostly done interview type projects to this point, but I am pretty proud of a couple of them.

Just thought I'd delurk to post up a vignette I made a few months back to test out my new camcorder. It's best watched in 720p due to compression issues causing the 1080p to go slightly funky...

Here is a teaser I edited for a short film I'm producing.

I pretty much ripped off the opening sequence of the French film Bande à Part.

Tell me if I did a great job recreating it.

I think much of the strength from the original is that the eyes of all the different actors are pretty much in the same spot, with similar framing and an even monochromatic background, which all make the clip rather hypnotic.

In your version I find myself having to scan every image to understand what is going on on each and every one of them, there's too much going on for such a high-speed editing.

The main problems are a/ different framing and positions within the frame for each actor and b/ inclusion of background elements which become extremely parasitic at this speed.

It's fun though, just more confusing, like watching a tennis game at 5000 mph.

The editing is probably spot-on (won't bother checking, for the sake of my mental health)

This is a 15-minute short comedy/horror video I made with some friends. It's an episode of a religious though-not-necessarily-Christian kids' show with puppets, and is about the attempts of its fresh-faced host to restrain his volcanic anger.

As some of you may know, I'm a professional film editor. I was looking for a thread like this just to get the word out about some films I've worked on, and some of which that could use the hits/links/etc.

For all of these films, I was the editor as well as the post-production supervisor...in some the sound designer as well.

Well I don't see why I can't do a shameless plug for my new webseries! I have created the world's most fantastically lame but awesome avengers spoof series ever! It's called...

The Uhvengers!!!!

We are currently trying to grow our fan-base in order to continue doing this. It actually started as an entry into Lander University's 4th Annual Film Festival and it won first place so that's....something....

Anyway feel free to leave suggestions....I'm definately open to them...and stuff

Just joined and spent the past fifteen minutes looking for a welcome thread. Is there one? Looks like this is a fun forum and hoping to contribute with my love for comics, animation, and film. I am going to be posting a series of animatic shorts here for everyone to check out. More tonight when I get home from work.

I make a YouTube show called 'SO YOU'RE A SUPERHERO' - it's a series of mock-instructional videos teaching the viewer how to be a superhero, with a different power or aspect of being a hero covered every week.

I currently have 20 episodes uploaded, with 4 more made and ready to go over the next few weeks, and plans for well over 100 episodes total. The effects are slightly shonky and some of the cinematography is a little off-kilter, but I make the whole lot from scratch on my own so I'd hope some of that can be forgiven!

Here are all the appropriate links to my social media accounts, I'd really appreciate some support from you guys!

Hope this appeals to some of you, and I'm sure you'll all stay super!
