Venomfan, go to town. This is for you so you can stop derailing other threads with this.

I liked their choice of Shocker. Worked for the show. And he'll be back, apparently.

Me thinks Sarcastic Fan has and Venomfan have a thing for each other :o

I'm a Green Goblin fan, he's a Venom fan. We can't get along.

Seriously, I have no personal problems with him. I just wish he'd stop bring up Herman Schultz in every thread.

OMG. Will this damn topic die already. Montana is Shocker, Deal with it.

I was telling a friend of mine about Spectacular Spider-Man and, surprisingly, how good it was.

I was telling him how it harkons back to the Ditko era and some of the changes they have made...and one was that Montana became the Shocker. And that some fans were upset by this.

His questions?

Who is Montana? (Guy with a lasso.)
Who was the Shocker? (Herman Schultz).

...People are upset, WHY? (Exactly.)

to be fair to venom fan his point is valid in that not many villians bring more to the table outside of the name, therefore wiseman 'could' change many more villians alter egos if he so chose.

for instance you couldn't change kraven but you could definately (for example) change beetle, scorpion, spot etc

YEAAAAAAAAH!!!!
I love a little friendly argumentive conversation. as long as there as no insults...because lets face it. im freakin awesome.

but yea back to my point before I pull out a mirror and lose a couple of hours of my free time.

seriously. first of all I REALLY want to know why people love the name herman Schultz so much? no one is giving a real excuse. the only points made are pro montana/shocker.

no one is crying over the Rhino's name change though.
he was Aleksei Sytsevich in the comics. (yes I did look that up and copy and paste his name)

but further more to the point. they gave him the ultimate name. alex o hirn. and if you haven't read ultimate you should...that rhino is waaaaaaay different.
now back to my point.
in a sense thats essentially mixing two characters and in a sense thats creating a brand new character.

because lets face it. im freakin awesome.
Yea I know Im gonna like arguing with you :whatever:

No one is crying about that because if you actually knew what you were talking about you would know that Alex O' Hirn is an alias Rhino uses (as opposed to his Russian name) in the regular comics as well way before Ultimate.

My problem is, what does this mean for the Enforcers? They were a trio that equalled sPidey in strength (Ox) agility (Dan) and webbing (Montana). We never even saw the last use lassos or bullwhips. Ruining that group to change the identity of another villain just seems kind of disappointing.

You aren't hitting on me are you? My girlfriend gets jealous easy...and its always the pretty ones that do.... :hehe:

oops...you got me. :P
PSYCHE! lol.
heh....I must admit you did exactly what I wanted you to do so I could make a point...

I gave false info. regarding something else. your obviously knowledgeable and you make good points to slam my argument into the ground when theres a good shot. but when I make good points about shocker/montana. you don't show up. lol.

seriously your a very smart dude!!! which is my only reason to debate. (if you said kingpin is bigman i wouldn't be wasting my time.)

so tell me how herman schultz would have worked better in the series?

True...I did think about this as well.
but I have a feeling the enforcers won't be back as a team.

I think really they wanted to use these characters. but they ran into the problems of there weapons. the lasso/whip might not have went well with the censors...its different from the batman tas days...they really aren't that top tier bad guys like ock and gobby and venom.

so I thought they might throw in herman when shocker makes a return. who knows.:whatever:

Riiiiiiiiight

Except I dont care either way about Shocker being Herman or Montana which is why I didn't bother quoting those parts. Now why would I argue about something I dont care either way on the issue? I was just pointing out a flaw/mistake in your argument, which supposedly you made on purpose :o :whatever:

actually during that podcast from last month during the montana/shocker question that was asked greg said since he sees no no reason to have herman be shocker cause besides his name there is nothing special about herman's background he isnt planning to ever have herman take the mantle of shocker.

Yes before the episode aired, I was totally against it. Now I dont care, I like Montana. I still think its a useless change and they could have easily used Herman tho. So why would I argue again n00b? :o

OH and before you go off and reply, I'll do your job and quote myself

Lets see, where do I begin....okay Shocker stuff

The scene right before the credits with Montana stealing the tech stuff and delivering it to Hammerhead really could have been anyone, so it could have easily been Herman. After watching the episode, however, I do understand why they chose to have Montana be Shocker. So in the end it was an unnecessary change but it works well. Having said that though, it was pretty cool to see Montana as Shocker; it was an interesting change and it has grown on me. I like the Texas accent and lingo :oldrazz:

Now for the rest of the episode. I know other people will say the Lizard episode is the best so far, but I think this episode was the best so far. I liked how even though Shocker was the main villain if you will, he wasn't the main focus of the story persay. Shocker was just a "force of nature" to develop the other characters and move forward the different storylines (i.e Big Man, Norman, Harry, etc...). This episode definitely foreshadows many things to come in the future and I cant wait.

Definitely a 5 for me, to be honest this is my favorite episode so far :hyper:

Doesnt say much for Spidey if he has problem with 1) just some big guy (2) a short dude who knows martial arts and 3) a guy with a lasso.

With any luck we wont be seeing the Enforcers for a long while - both in the show AND comics.

Atleast the Spot can open inter-dimensional portals!

Vile, that av is pimp.

I liked seeing Montana as Shocker. I couldn't even remember what Herman looked like until I opened up one of my Essential ASMs that had the reprint of ASM #46. Shocker rocked and that was fine by me.
