Yes, I now own a slim PS2 after five brilliant and faithful years with my fat Playstation 2, until that one finally copped out.:( Anyway, to the question...

Does PS1 memory cards work on it? I'm trying to play Spider-man, and my current, seven-nine year old PS1 memory card isn't acknowledged by the system. So...I present the question to the geniuses, or at least self-proclaimed geniuses, this question.

What's wrong?

I had no problems, is your mem card clean?

Well, yeah, as far as I can tell. But, how would you tell anyway? By looking at the slots?

Can anyone help me?

You can tell by your memory card not working. It is compatible with the PS2, it's just that your memory card is messed up for some reason.

Now, to fix the problem...we went by Radioshack and the clerk said that I could buy a PS2 memory card, format it by saving a PS1 game on the brand new memory card, and wala, I can use it for my PS1 games. Now, is this true, or plain malarky?
