What things in this film did you like that were small things but a big deal for you?

For me, no doubt where the Sanford & Son music was playing and we saw the opening to the show. Love that show to death. My dad showed me that show couple years ago and I loved it. I was grinning like an idiot in the theater when that was playing while humming the theme.

Also the fact this film had an opening credit. Is it me or are most CBMs nowadays not doing opening credits? The MCU films, TASM series, Nolan's Batman films. I remember as a kid watching the opening credit to Batman 89 and loving it. I remember seeing Spidey's 2 opening credits with the Alex Ross art. It seems most CBMs just show the title of film and move on.

I loved that they acknowledged Pietro being fathered by Magneto
loved that

The Fox X lingering on-screen with the X-Men fanfare

X-Men 2 score returns!
They went back to the style of opening credits from the original trilogy.

The subtle X's in things. That's what I loved about the first two movies. There was the in your face type stuff but also the little ones that you have to play close attention to. Like Kitty's rings are X's. The tables in the alternate future behind Logan when speaking to Prof X are shaped in the form of an X. I love that stuff.

I liked Rogue's little smile to Logan at the end. Also Hugh's ass (though maybe that doesn't count since it isn't little) :). I smiled when Storm said hello to Bobby and I loved when Cerebro still had the same voice as was in the original films.

The openng theme.

Quicksilvers reaction to the Guard when Magneto said he killed the President.

Mystique impersonating the Villian and looking through his files as a callback to X2

Inhibitor collars.

The mount Fuji picture and Samurai swords in Logans apartment

Cerebro's voice sounded different to me.

Mainly facial expressions throughout the film in the future scenes, felt like even though the OT cast didn't have much development in terms of speaking the talent showed through how they looked.

Colossus' face when he was about to get killed by the Sentinel for the first time

Kitty when she saw Iceman getting melted by the Sentinel, and when the Sentinels were closing in on Her, Prof X and Wolverine.

Magneto getting stabbed by the debris then pulling it out and carrying on the battle, and then him and the short words he and Xavier had before they held hands.

Wolverine being somewhat surprised at bone claws appearing when he had just been sent back in time.

Erik's expression to Charles on the jet after they had their spat, you could see Erik was instigating the reconcile but he knew they would never be able to because of their differing ideologies.

The animated sequence/The X door/The lighting of the X/X2 theme

Little things and nods here and there. Natural and/or interesting character behavior, not just spouting lines. Lighting. That certain playfulness.

For me, When Kitty came out of the temple to say hello to Xavier for the first time. Stewart's reaction was so great. He seemed somewhat proud that one of his students made it through the downfall. Quick, small reaction but it showed a lot.

Another small thing was when Storm pretty much told Bishop that she was ready to die for the cause. "We can't stop that many" "No, but we can slow them down". She was ready to give her life and really seemed like a leader in that small part. Bishop seemed kinda stunned by what she said as well haha

When the X in the Fox logo fades slowly (like it did in X1 and 2), you hear the main theme music for a split second.

Kitty been injured by Wolverine and continuing, it gave her more range for a character basically just sitting their concentrating, she looked pained and exhausted and it just added a little extra.

Oh yes, absolutely that.

The line from peter about his mum knowing a guy with magnetic powers was huge for me. Apparently that scene was improv as well which is even more impressive.

And for non fans who probably didn't think it was a big deal, seeing jean and Scott again made my heart soar

I liked how Logan was apparently hired muscle for the mob-- stuff like this makes up for what Origins failed to do, which is showing how far from a hero he used to be.

The City on the Edge of Forever. Its presence was nice, as it is a) one of the best science fiction stories ever made b) it inspired a lot of time travel tales, including DOFP.

Magneto immediately leaving to help Storm and the others when Warpath connected to Charles with the warning that the Sentinels were coming, and the expression from Xavier watching him walk away, assuming that may be the last time he sees his old friend. Magneto then, mortally wounded, thinking first to barricade Charles, Bobby, Logan, and Kitty inside, assuming that he will be killed. And then Blink saving him, and the shocked concern Bobby shows when he sees a wounded Magneto. Think about how far Erik has come in his relationship with the X-Men from X1 to that sequence.

Also, Magneto restraining Logan when he started thrashing and cut Kitty. That, much like Erik magnetizing to the floor of the crashing X-Jet to protect Charles in First Class - was really simple, but really cool.

I loved the metal door Magneto made when the Sentinels were killing everybody, it's just a quiet little desperate moment, completely amazing.

Magneto sewing up his own head while looking at the sentinel plans through a makeshift projector.

I loved the whole Ian McKellen's perfomance in that scene in the last fight in the future:bow:

I agree with all of this. One of my favourite parts of the film.
