A place for folks to have a discussion on which songs they feel define, describe or simply pinpoint moments or feelings in their lives. In a 'this is where I was when'... moment or a particular song speaks to them in a personal way, like no other....

That changes all the time. Right now: Tom Waits' "Ruby Arms" and Dire Straits "On Every Street." It's not the subject matter but the feeling evoked by the songs. The soldier leaving his lover in the first who is not used to wearing his heart on his sleeve, and the man searching for a woman he is sure must be somewhere out there but always remains just out of reach. The woman in each song can be any ideal or bliss you're forced to turn away from or constantly pursue.

Another song is David Bowie's "Look Back in Anger," one of my all-time favorites. With his usual genius, Bowie sings about looking back at the creative force he used to be and wonders if he can retain that creativity without his younger self's madness.

"Lamentation" from the Xenosaga II soundtrack is the one that best represents me in general.

Playing With Fire by Brandon Flowers came into my life when I was at a crossroads, not knowing what to do with my life. His whole “Flamingo” album did that for me.

Man of the Hour by Pearl Jam is a song that resonates with me in an enormous way.
