Iron Man Sequels The Sophomore Curse

I can see one happening (even though it's up to the box office results of the 1st one), but I worry about what the story would be.

Are you worried about the success of a sequel to Iron-Man?

What would you like to see in the sequel?

I think I'd probably need to see what's in the first one before I wouild know what should be in the second one. But from what we know, I'd say Demon in a Bottle for the sequel with maybe Spymaster as the villain and ending with Rhodey taking the mantle of War machine.
Have the third one be a redemption story where Stark takes back the helm of Ironman just in time to battle the double threat of Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo.

There's such a thing as a Sophomore curse with superhero movies? Most superhero sequels seem to do quite well. If the first Iron Man movie is good, and the cast and crew comes back for the sequel, I'd hardly be worried. They will have a good 40 years of material to draw from when developing the sequel's story.

SM3 problem WAS Venom and his being shoved down Rami's throat by Avi. They went for the easy lazy money and forced the character into the story instead of writing him in from the start. I call it the FanBoy effect and it ruined SM3

There is no sophmore curse. Spidey 2, X2, heck even FF2 were all better than the original. It is the third film that is cursed. TDK well be a sophmore great aswell.

I prefer him without the tongue. It's a stupid look that wasn't part of McFarlane's original design, and artists get so carried away with it that comes off as looking dumb rather than menacing.

His size was fine. He doesn't need to be the goddamn Hulk.

All better than their firsts, as good as the firsts may have been. Provided that Marvel doesnt eff it up, I'm sure that Iron Man will be among these movies.

Exactly. There is no sophomore curse. We have yet to get that great 3rd film though. That's the true curse.

So what? Yea, Bane beat up and Batman and Robin too and he made the big screen. Sorry, but IMO, the way Venom was handled was just awful. It was clear Raimi wanted nothing to do with the character. Brock was so underdeveloped that I didn't care one way or the other what happened to him. He was just a throwaway character.

as long as the story/film is generally better IR I think we should be alright, Spiderman 2 was far better then the first but didn't make as much money.The 3rd sucked though so maybe we have to worry about IM3. :S

very rarely is the sequel to a movie worse than the first. They're usually up to par if not better
