I take it you never saw Glory then.

Once anything gets popular, it always dies. As of right now? No. The culture is in full swing. It's being co-opted by the media, and once you start seeing middle aged white guys trying to use the slang, it's over. It's getting there, but eventually, the Backlash will come.

Rap, on the other hand, is s**t right now. Either it's shallow and all about the mainstream, or it's preachy and boring when someone tries to do something with a message. Maybe someday, somebody will come along and change the game. Bring back some meaning, while not being depressing, and still produce something good to dance to. Until then, I'd rather listen to old school R&B, Blues, and rock music. But that's just me.

It's a classic. I think Freeman got nominated for best supporting actor. Not sure if he won or not.

I propose the hypothesis that; Martin Lawrence only makes bad movies. Bad Boys was a complete fluke.

LMAO. What's really funny is the reason he's dancing. Brothas act like K-I-D is a disease.

If you're referring to Glory, Denzel took home the Oscar for Best Supporting.

Tis a shame Jigga's "comeback" album sucked complete and utter ass. I can't remember the last time I bothered to listen to it.

I won't watch anything on the wb or whatever the hell it is now since they canceled Reba. Reba had the highest ratings for at least a sitcom on their network but they canceled it because it wasn't what they wanted for their "Demographics". Pieces of racist crap

I'm the same shade as Ashley and both my parents (and both sets of grandparents) are black.

Dude, that must get pretty boring. All there is is white. We got all kinds of stuff: tarbaby, mochoa, hazelnut, toasted, roasted, medium-well-done, cappucino, CINO, light, dyn-o-mite!, and damn near white!!

Eh? I thought no black actor had ever won the oscar and then Halle Berry and Denzel Washington were handed one each for diversity's sake. Didn't he get his first one for the C+ movie, Training Day? I probably got facts mixed up here...

    excuse me?? I'd like clarification...

Sidney Poitier was the first black actor to take the best actor Oscar back in 1964 for lilies of the field...
thus Denzel's I'm always following you comment in his acceptance speech...
