Umm, when are they going to release it? I've been wondering about it for quite some time now. Thanks all!

This winter or early '07 after the one-shot Batman/Spirit comes out.

Good. Thanks. I thought I'd missed it.

THE SPIRIT #1
Written by Darwyn Cooke
Art by Cooke & J. Bone
Cover by Cooke
Acclaimed writer/artist Darwyn Cooke (DC: THE NEW FRONTIER) sets his sights on Will Eisner's classic hero The Spirit in this all-new monthly series that maintains the "spirit" of Eisner's creation while bringing a new sensibility to the character. The Spirit, a.k.a. Denny Colt, joins Commissioner Dolan and his daughter Ellen in this go-for-broke, shoot-the-lights-out crime story!
When ace television reporter Ginger Coffee is abducted by a crimelord she was about to run an exposé on, The Spirit is called in to investigate. Finding her is tough enough, but getting out alive is a whole other matter!
Don't miss the first exciting issue, filled with action, adventure, humor and sexy girls!
On sale December 20 o 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US Edited by Scott Dunbier

This sounds like The Spirit could be an exciting read. I think I will be adding this title to my pull list.

I would gouge out my left eyeball to be as talented as cooke.

I can't wait for this. It's going to be ace.

Awesome.

Though im sure celldog will be boycotting this title.

Anything with Cooke's name on and I am there. This sounds like it's going to be awesome.

Both The Spirit and Batman/The Spirit look to be very promising. I'm glad to see Cooke handling the artistic duties of both comics.

Why's that? Because of the Cab Driver? I honestly think the "new sensibility" they speak of is the lack of the cab driver. He really wouldn't work out in a modern comic.

I would sorta like to see a modernized Ebony White. :(

Me too, but I really don't see that happening, taking the character's past into account.

it'll be funny if the question is actually killed off and replaced by the spirit.

anyways,i'll be checking this title out. darwyn cook'es art is great. but i would've prefered tim sale's.

Sale sucks, i dont like chinese superman
