Hello everyone! I am an independent filmmaker currently tackling the first Episode of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy (namely Episode VII). You can take a look at the official Sequel Trilogy blog here: http://sequeltrilogy.blogspot.com/ It answers most of the basic questions, (plot details aside) and provides an email address at which you can contact me if you'd like to be involved in some way with the production. I'll be updating every so often, so bookmark it if the project sparks your interest. The next time someone tells you there won't be a Sequel Trilogy, you can correct them. There will be a Sequel Trilogy.

With all due respect, no, there won't. There will be another fan film.

:p We'll see. I'm confident the films will be quite enjoyable and I think the vast majority of Star Wars fans will genuinely appreciate them. They may be fanfilms, but they aren't going to be like any fanfilms you've seen before. These films will look, sound, and feel like real-to-life installments of the Star Wars saga.

Well, listen, I wish you the very best of luck with them and I certainly am intrested in seeing the finished result. The model work sounds good.

Well, thank you! If anyone who is reading this is interested, we're very much looking for conceptual artists for the project at the moment. I started a thread in the "Fan Art" section, but I don't know how many of the regulars of this forum frequent those parts. If you're interested, use the contact button on the official blog to send me an email with a little bit about yourself and a sample of your work. Thank you.

I think it's good your doing this, however, the film industry basically means you don't own these films, and due to budgeting, it will rather......inadequete in comparison to the other films? Althought probably better than that revenge of the sith crap! Keep doing it! What are you filiming and editing on? Lighting rig?

We updated today with news on our first official casting. We're very excited to have him on board. So what are you waiting for?

Go meet the new Han Solo! http://sequeltrilogy.blogspot.com/

Well just dont screw it up. ;)

Lucas was successful by playing up the hero and giving him all the classic obstacles: Damsel in distress, last minute countdown, one man against an army , etc. Be sure to follow that formula and NOT what passes for good ploting these days: kung fu, bare breasts, and car chases

I have been to Skywalker Ranch and seen Lucas's personal library myself, and if he has read even a TENTH of those books he has to be smarter than any ten of his most firebrand critics put together. You therefore have big shoes to fill and I wish you luck, just do your research. John Carter of Mars, Lensmen, any sci fi from the 30's and 40's. It worked for Lucas.

Awesome! I commend you guys on this effort.

I think I can contribute to the conceptual design if you need help. I'll contact you from the blog.

LMAO, imagine that in Star Wars....wait, what am I laughing at? There are various martial arts involved in the Jedi combat, the speeder chase in Attack of the Clones was a car chase (in the sky) and for the third, well, we can all use our imagination.....and then post it and say it really happened like StarWarsAgent. ;)

Lucas uses car chases as exciting sequences, NOT as a substitute for the plot itself (with Gone in 60 Seconds and Fast and Furious coming to mind).

THe Jedi use kung fu, but are not ABOUT Kung fu, dont ever forget the difference if you want decent characterization.

Why, that sounds like something Star Wars Agent would say.

No, Really? I thought Attack of the Clones = Enter the Dragon.

Anyway, decent characterisation? You won't find that in the Star Wars prequels.
