I just want to take this moment to speak directly to all of you new Superman fans, which shouldn't be based on Superman Returns by the way. Bad movie. But moving on, in the sequel, or next installement of Superman, there is a good chance of Lana Lang being involved in some way due to Lois Lane being in a relationship with Richard White that seems to be going place. Superman/Clark f%cked up, has has only himself to blame. Bad move on his part. But, with that being what it is, the door has been opened to bring in none other than Lana Lang as a love interest in the next film. That is great news to me, because I have always felt that Clark and Lana were the better couple, and you know why, because Lana loved Clark for Clark. She would have loved him without the powers, without being Superman, and that always appealed to me more than Lois. Lois is a god damn gold digger. But thats not the point of this thread.

The point is, don't make your judgements on the character of Lana Lang based on Smallville. That is NOT Lana Lang at all. That is Lana Lang in name only. Do not fret if she is brought in to the next film. Well, fret if it is done by Bryan Singer, but not because of Lana. Lana's character is much richer than that of Lois Lane. Lana is a reflection to Clark of what normal life could be like, the happiness that it would bring. Embrace it, embrace her, Lana is Clark's true soulmate.

I personally would do alot of things to piss fanboys off, and you know why, because I believe there the right thing to do. One of those things would be to have Clark end up with Lana when it is all said and done.

it depends on which version of Lana Lang they'll come up with. there has been so many versions of Lana Lang throughout the history of Superman, she's ranged from the-highschool-crush that Clark admired from afar to a Lois-clone.

i read a script where Clark was paired off with Lana, and although they appeared a "sweeter" couple mostly because if the history they've shared it feels like a cop off, because the relationship can easily be played out if the character was played by Lois. honestly Clark backtracking to Lana feels like he hasnt let her go-- which he should've have by the time he meets Lois.

btw, for a guy that's asking its members not to mind the faults of SR, you sure bring it up often in your post.

except one very important thing, dude: "Clark" is an act. Kal-El is Superman. that is who he was born to be, that is him at his most natural state.

one could argue, i suppose, that when he was growing up in Smallville, he was more Kal-El than the "Clark" that everyone knows in Metropolis, that the "Clark" the Smallvillians knew is the boy who grew up to be Superman, but i think everyone would agree that there's a world of a difference between who we were in high school, who we were in college, and who we are now.

don't confuse Lana for a Spider-Man chick. it's not like we're comparing the Black Cat to Mary Jane. Lana might have really liked Clark, but everything we've seen of him (regardless of the origin we cling to), Clark is what Kal-El has to act like so there can be a Superman, his true (and secret) nature.

Lois, by this point, should get that. she does in the comics, anyway. we're not real sure in Superman Returns if she knows they're the same person or if she's trying to throw Richard off track.

it think they will bring Lana in becuase Smallville is popular unless they make them not use her....

especially since it seems Lois and Richard are going to get married, Lana only makes sense for somebody clark can talk and relate to and be a potential love interest.....

I think Lana needs to be in the sequel to give Superman a lover....

If Lana Lang is in the movie I want them to kill her off. Let Superman be a helpless witness. I really liked the Smallville part in Superman III, could be a nice twist to have Clark and Lana get into a relationship.

But maybe she should be dead from the beginning. Have her been killed at 9/11 or something. Killed when Superman was off searching for his home planet. I really think Singer should have made a scene with Superman at Ground Zero. But it needs to be done in a respectfull way and not cheesy kind.

When I see a Superman movie I want to see what the world could be like with him showing us the way :)

Yea well it depends on which incarnation. Whichever one you prefer, Im not gonna make an issue of it. Me personally, I prefer Clark as the man and Superman as the disguise. Thats just me. And Im working from the angle.

The Alex Ford script :) And I don't ask members to not mind the faults of SR, Im the guy who is stunned that anyone likes it.

^^ i was actually referring to the Batman vs Superman script, which i believe Singer read because there was quite a number of visual cues from its pages that wound up on SR. that and the way he talked about the BvS movie when he was asked about it.

They should bring her in, to see how Lois reacts to the competition. They could even have someone like Rachel McAdams play her to show that Clark always likes the same type of girl

yah, she has to be in the sequel, she is an important part of Superman mythos especailly since Superman/Clark will be in need for someone he can love and share his time with!

PS: Bring Pete in also

If they continue with the sequels based upon the Reeve movies....then yes, they should have Lana show up.

Lois Lane isn't really the sweet girl type. Thats why I don't like her as much as Lana, except for Smallville, where Lana ruins the show. But thats the writers faults, not the character itself.

She should be in the movie. To me it would be a logical way to go. I just hope they abandon all thing Smallville from the equation. Personally I think their backstory should go along the lines of them being friend since early childhood. As they get older (high school years) they start getting feelings for each other, but they never consumate their love. They both move on and they both eventually catch up to each other, and a relationship reforms.

However, one aspect that I think they should do is either Have Lana already know that Clark is Superman or quickly figure it out.

Having both a have a deep and long history, I think would make for an interesting dynamic onscreen.

No Lana Lang!!!!!!! Not In Any Movie, Unless She Is Married To Pete Ross!!!!!!

Not even a cameo?

You guys can't possible believe Lana should be in the movie.

1.Considering the sequel will be 2hr. 15mins. max. Introducing new characters would be stupid outside of a cameo.

2.Lana's only important to Smallville Clark. If he isn't going back to Smallville( ripoff of SIII *cough) for the story then she doesn't need to be there.

3.Lois, Jason, and Richard will have more character development as Singer has to get rid of Richard to make way for Clark to be his father.

4.Superman will be preoccupied with whatever villian to be talking to old friends. Ma Kent will probably expand her role as a sounding board for Clark.

I think it's possible to have her in the sequel. Look how many people are in the cast for Sm3.

I Agree, Clark Kent is who he is...Superman is what he does.

I think lana should be brought in and have either Lana from Smallville or i liked the suggestion of Rachel McAdams playing her. I think that could be cool.

like it or not, Lana is a significant character in Superman mythos.... I see no reason for her to pop up.

Do you mean she is "insignificant"....so you see no reason for her to pop up?

Or

Do you mean she is significant.....so you see no reason for her "not" to show up?

I want Lana in the sequel and i want her to be played by Jennifer Morrison.
