In the spirit of the Grinch Refuge thread at Christmas, this is one for all of the people who aren't glad that summer is here. You're probably in the minority among all of your family and friends, but this is a safe place. Discuss.

Ugh, no way. Even the bleakest, nastiest winter day is preferable to the oppressive heat of summer.

I work 10 hour shifts outside year round. In the winter its below freezing at night, and not much better during the day. And in the summer its 90-100+ degrees with 90% humidity in the day, and the nights are just hot sticky and humid. So as far as Im concerned both seasons can **** off.

I am a Spring guy. And my second favorite would be Autumn. Summer and winter are both overrated.

Its a pain in the ass let me tall ya. Everyday Im at the mercy of mother nature. So not only do I have the typical stress that comes with any job, but Ive also got to deal with the completely unpredictable ***** that is mother nature.

It just dipped past 90 degrees Fahrenheit where I live. At 3 in the morning.

I thank Willis Carrier for inventing the modern air conditioner. I'd be dead without it.

The only reason Autumn is my second and not my first is it leads directly into winter, which I absolutely hate. I like the foliage in October. And the smell of wood fires, and Halloween.

My favorite month is May though. Everything comes to life.

I don't like when it's too hot, I get ear infections easily so swimming isn't too much fun, and I don't like sports or other activities people do outside.

Well, knock on wood our Summer has been pretty mild so far, much to my relief. When the temperatures go above the 70's I tend to worry because hotter temperatures do a serious number on me, even making me physically ill.

As a Chicago native, as much as I hate dealing with lots of snow and slush, I'll take that over the summers we get.

And it's not just the weather I hate about summer, but the people also. That's when kids are out of school and the teens suddenly want to start running wild in the city.

Seems to me summer is only enjoyable if you're young, or don't have to work a lot and can afford to get away and enjoy the summer.

Exactly. Summer was cool when I was 16. Now it just means that I have to drive to work in in a car with sh**y AC while wearing black slacks
