The Super Hero Squad Show

"The series takes place all over the world, but the Marvel heroes live in Superhero City while the villains live in Villainville. The season-long plot involves pieces of the Infinity Sword being scattered across the globe, and now Doctor Doom must gather the pieces so he can rule the universe."

Watched the first two episodes that premiered on Cartoon Network the other day. While its obviously aimed at a really young audience there are some jokes that make funny references to the Marvel Universe and you can't help but smile and just have a fun time when watching these Chibi versions of my favorite heroes/villains duking it out.

Good stuff for any Marvel fans with a tolerance for kid jokes every now and then.

:waa:

No! No! No!!! Comic books are mature and adult stuff! IT'S NOT FOR KIDS!!!
Superheroes are serious business!! Go let them play with their Fisher Price Toys!!!
AAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!

Just Kidding

Of course it's not meant for us. It's made for little kids 1-6 years, to let them get some experience with/introducing them to comic figures. They just want to penetrate all demographic areas, from the youngest till the mature ones. They are the future fans!!

I bet Tony Stark gets drunk on grape juice...
Oh and Ant Man thinks his wife has cooties...

Also, DON MAKE ME ANGWY! YOU WOULD'NT LIKE ME WHEN I'M ANGWY!!
And the villains go, "D'awww! Ain't that cute!"

"Disney bought Marvel," they said. "What could possibly go wrong?"

This was developed way before the acquisition.

Also I don't see the problem with introducing these Marvel staples to kids. Better than some Hannah Montana bologna.

No harm done as long as Marvel keeps developing good animation targeted at older audiences.

Marvel Super Hero Squad has been around for a while contrary to Obi-Ron's stupid post. This show was featured at San Diego Comic Con well before the Disney deal was brought up.

I'm not saying its a great show or anything, but its sort of like a goofy Marvel cartoon that's based on a popular line of toys. Whatever. There's been much worse.

Its not like they are cancelling Wolverine and The X-men and Avenger's Earth's Mightiest Heroes to do this. Its a Marvel cartoon on Cartoon Network when Cartoon Network doesn't even want to show actual animation anymore. Its actually giving my boy Travis Willingham work.

Also to all you haters, even a KRYTPO cartoon happened. Yes, Krypto the super dog got his own cartoon complete with Ace The Bathound voiced by Scott McNeill.

Its OK. It's sort of vapid and almost incomprehensible, but I've seen much worse. Some of the gags are funny, some are just lame toilet humor. Hulk just blundering off to help and then not knowing where he is going and ending up in Mexico playing in a Mariachi band is pretty funny.

where is spider-man? wolverine managed to get in

I dunno why they can do Wolverine and X-men characters but not Spider-man. Maybe its a Sony think.

Did Spider-man ever get a Super Hero Squad figurine?

That has to do with Marvel just recently acquiring the television rights of Spider-Man again from Sony.

This was produced when Marvel hadn't yet won that battle so you can expect Spider-Man in later seasons if this does well.

dudes this show kicks ASS!
It makes me feel like a kid on saturday morning in the 90s all over again.
definately reccommended.

I watched the first episode and thought it was pretty funny stuff.
