The Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow News and Discussion Thread

Man Sasha Calle was so miscast, the costume was horrible, and the characterization was completely the opposite of what I wanted to see from this character.

I’m really excited to see what Milly brings to the role, I think it’s great casting. I just hope the movie throws in some other fun DC characters that weren’t in the comic it’s based on. Would be a great spot to introduce Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, Lobo or any number of fun cosmic DC characters!

Awesome. If nothing else, at least the film should look stunning.

Great story: check.
Great actors: check.
Great visuals: check.

My feelings on Gillespie just being “ok” as a director are becoming less and less of a concern as everything else falling into place on this is looking pretty stellar from where I’m sitting.

If they can surround him with enough talent (like they’re doing), then I think we should all have reason to be excited!

Speaking of Gillespie, I watched Cruella a few weeks back… honestly, I didn’t hate it.

The story was what it was (though I would still say it’s preferable to Disney’s current thing of just directly lifting the animated stories and applying it to “live action”), but the man knew what to do with that camera and got a great performance from his lead.

I finally finished reading Woman of Tomorrow a few weeks ago. I haven't read a ton of Supergirl comics, but I did like seeing a different side of her character and seeing that, even with her traveling to this far out planet just to be alone and get a bit plastered, this is still the same tortured soul dealing with what happened to her planet, and trying to instill the same values in Ruthye.

Interesting tidbit that I’m not sure I’ve seen come up yet: One of the crew listings on IMDB says Iceland will be a filming location for Supergirl.
Very interesting... lots of green foliage and star wars Episode 8 rock structures

So excited for this...now after the First Superman Teaser Trailer even more.
Cant wait to see her in the suit and all.
I wonder if there’ll be a “stylistic” consistency between the Superman and Supergirl outfits. Or does being gender specific mean that there’s carte blanch for the Supergirl design?

Just remembered Krypto gets injured in the WOT comic.

If that happens in this film to the Krypto we were just introduced to, I’ll kill Krem’s whole family. :o

I have questions for Ms. Zor -El :woozy: Your cousin is wheezing and bleeding. Where the heck are you. Luckily Krypto was around. I can’t wait to hear that explanation.:halo::cool:

Maybe she hasn't been introduced into the DCU yet?

WoT takes place during Superman... Probably. :o
