The Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow News and Discussion Thread

I know that I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating that going with Woman of Tomorrow is such a brilliant idea as it differentiates Kara from her cousin.

Women superheroes have struggled lately though so it’s a gamble but the Woman of Tomorrow comic is so good. Just hope they don’t screw it up like Flash point. Another great comic but failed to materialize on the big screen. I have always wondered if they included the Atlantis vs Amazon story line instead of Zod if it would have worked better.

Flashpoint is probably too convoluted to be a good choice for a film. Most crisis stories probably are too confusing to boil down to 2-3 hours.

Good points. The Woman of Tomorrow is the perfect one off story for the big screen. Very straightforward.

True dat. Crisis isn't the Infinity Saga you need to build up multiple universes with multiple versions of the heroes. Even importing the old universes you need to build them out more to bring them back. It cant just be a one off, you need full films that flesh out where they are now and act as a primer for new fans. Then (like 10 years later) you can start building to Crisis. Then Crisis would be 3 films on its own leading to the Post Crisis Era.

It could be done...it would be tough though. First you need to fully flesh out all facets of the Gunnverse though...this would be so long term it likely would never be allowed.

Earth 1 would be Gunnverse
Earth 2 should be Donnerverse but that Superman is dead so it is tough although I guess you could use Kara
Earth 3 could be Snyderverse (which would need some serious overhauling)
Earth 4 could be Arrowverse (would need some rebooting)
Earth S would be Shazam (retcon Cavill showing up in Black Adam as a multiverse thing maybe he crossed Earths when he fought the New Gods) Not sure what to do with that JSA...

Beyond that though you would need to establish some other Earths through crossover and exposition and straight up films. Some would be straight cannon fodder like Earth X was in Crisis and you could maybe do Earth C as a long term cartoon project for Max. Personally, if it was me, I would start the whole thing with Flashpoint Earth being the start of all this as it becomes Earth D and getting destroyed sparking the Crisis. ;)

Stay off the Multiverse for a long while, please. Once Marvel's Multiverse Saga and the Spiderverse series end, I need a break from the concept.

People really risponded to the first Wonder Woman and Aquaman movies, but I don't think that audiences truly cared enough about the DCEU for a story like Flashpoint to have the proper resonance, regardless of the threat.

"The DCEU as we know it might cease to exist." Audiences shrug. It doesn't work.

Aquaman was fun campy movie that came out during the Holidays. Plus the water fights were top notch and action was non stop. Wonder Woman was probably the best movie in the DCEU. No man’s land battle seen was right up there with the Battle for Smallville in Man of Steel. The DCEU was dying when Flash came out and it appeared to be the last ditch effort to save the universe. Esra killed the movie for me personally.

I love Aquaman. It's a really fun action adventure. It knows what it wants to be, and makes sure to be that in the most entertaining way possible. It's one of the highest points of the DCEU together with The Suicide Squad, Shazam and Wonder Woman.

Momoa draws in the fans. I still can’t believe Lost Kingdom brought in more money at the box office then the Rock and Black Adam.

New Supergirl solo book incoming…

Doesn’t really say if it’s a mini or an ongoing, but it seems reasonable enough to assume it’ll at least stick around long enough for this movie.

I have a hard time imagining they won’t be shooting outdoors at all, so I assume it just means Momoa won’t be there when they do.

Curious to see if we will have any leaks when they shoot outside in Iceland or any kind of promotional material like it was for Superman and the photo of the logo with the snow.
