The Superhero Cinematic Civil War of Tomorrow Thread - Part 62

I know this has no place in this thread but with all this F&F drama I am going to laugh my ASS off if Universal just says **** it and pulls the plug on part 11 and the series just ends on that absolutely ridiculous cliffhanger. :lmao:
Shout out the The Sopranos Ending of Blockbuster Franchises

The tragedy of Marvel casting Vanessa Kirby to play Sue Storm is that she was a perfect choice for Emma Frost.
I'm still holding out hope for...

I SO forgot Nicole Kidman and Lenny Kravitz used to clap each others cheeks back in the day. Aquaman's mom and Catwoman's stepmom and step-grandma.

What a tangled web that DC Universe weaves. :sneeze:
Nicole had a Love Revolution with Lenny. She was also Momoa’s mom on Aquaman, then Momoa showed Denise Huxtable his trident after Denise broke up with Lenny (his mom’s ex)

It’s all so incestuous.

And Denise (Lisa Bonet) was in Enemy of the State with Will Smith. Will Smith was in Legend of Bagger Vance with Matt Damon. Damon was in True Grit with Josh Brolin, who was in Hollow Man with …Kevin Bacon.

So what you're telling me is that Momoa is eskimo brothers with his own onscreen mom's real life ex.

Currently at NYCC. It isn't technically open yet but my wife snd I are currently inside queuing up for the Main Stage for the Critical Role panel. :hyper:

You guys have fun and stay alert!

Oh Comic Con, you non New Yawkers don’t know. There’s always a squadron of weirdoes on the subway, but this weekend there will be a proliferation of costumed weirdoes on the train.

Some good, some evil, some drunk, all doing the most.

Means I’m taking Uber until next week. :o

Luke Cage Season 2

I've read plenty online about how the second season was far superior to the first, but I gotta be honest and confess that I loved both :yay:

It was great seeing Claire (Rosario Dawson), Colleen (Jessica Henwick), and Misty (Simone Missick) again - Disney please greenlight a Daughters of the Dragon series as soon as possible. I loved too the basic street-level realism of the show, depicting how Luke becomes a viral sensation and must now reconcile his internal rage with his newfound celebrity, while still providing a positive image befitting his new brand. I never read the Heroes for Hire series but apparently some of the storylines from Season 2 are ripped straight from the books, such as Luke being courted for corporate sponsorship as well as our hero taking odd jobs to make ends meet. Of course the whole “Harlem Hero” app thing plants the series firmly within our social media obsessed era...

I love how lived-in the community Luke inhabits feels, and how his actions affect his 'neighbours' on an organic level. I loved Luke's struggles to reconcile his belief in street justice with his obligations to operate within the letter of the law. And I'd be a liar if I denied that having Danny cameo for an entire episode didn't hit my geek sweet spot (I also wouldn't say no to a Heroes for Hire show either)! Bushmaster (Mustafa Shakir) made for a compelling and genuinely scary and sympathetic baddie, while Luke's relationships with both his dad and Claire were fleshed out realistically.

The common complaint about pacing issues with the Netflix Marvel shows remains valid, but I really enjoy becoming immersed in these street-level stories. And it's a testament to Alfre Woodard's amazing performance that I actually felt for Mariah at the end, despite her despicable actions. I believe she did truly love Tilda, and being betrayed by her own daughter like that must have really stung. And the ending really made me want a third season: will Luke become corrupted by the power and status of Harlem's Paradise just as Mariah predicted? I fear we may never know...

I'm making good progress on these Marvel Netflix seasons - just three more to go :word:

Next up: Iron Fist Season 2

Sis, one of the most underrated bits of superhero TV that I'm mad we don't really talk about on here. Luke Cage S2 was must see tv for its main antagonist and the rest of the supporting cast alone.
