The Superhero Cinematic Civil War of Tomorrow Thread - Part 62

Good episode of Gen V this week, including some cool Magneto action. The big twist was predictable, but the execution for the reveal was well done. Finale already next week!

How would you guys feel if they explored Jessica Jones and Luke Cage's relationship and then their family life?

Or what if they make her a mutant?

Where we left JJ, no. Absolutely not. That is a development that would require several seasons to get her to that point. And there is no need to rewrite her origins, especially since the first two seasons had a lot to do with Roxxon.

Will we figure out what happened to her?

Modern writers are not comfortable writing unapologetically evil, murderous villains for whatever reason.
I'm somewhat fine with the opposite as long as the spirit of the character doesn't really suffer for it in the long run. A good example would be someone like Matt Reeves' Riddler.

MCU Bullseye is the polar opposite. I'm absolutely sick of them dragging out his arc, I'm more than ready for him to start being a full-blown POS.

To be honest, I am a bit concerned about the MCU X-Men movie after watching FF First Steps, only because they made a milk-toast FF movie where everyone's character flaws were sanded down and smoothed over. Any interesting conflicts hinted at go nowhere.

If current Marvel Studios can't handle the complexities of the FF, how are they going to handle the X-Men?

Looks like the viewership for the finale of Peacemaker was pretty low, hopefully this signals to Gunn to rein it in a bit in terms of his excesses.

It's official,

Thanks for making me angry that Netflix canceled GLOW. :o

I am not a huge fan of the superheroes as the supporting characters model. In a team book like Justice League or Avengers, sure. But for a solo series or movie, you need that supporting cast. Hal Jordan isn't a replacement for Jimmy Olson. It's a trend I don't love, and sadly it seems that's the norm now.
Say what you will about James Gunn’s work, but it’s why I like a lot of his projects. Even the supporting and side characters matter and get a moment to shine and be super memorable. And, sometimes, if the stories keep going long enough, they get to go on and play larger roles themselves.

No matter the story he writes and directs, everyone matters.
If you could have a fun night on the town with MJ, Gwen Stacy or Felicia Hardy, which one do you choose?

:sneeze:
Well, I don’t wanna do anything that would potentially get me arrested and a criminal record, so not Felicia. And, as great of a person as she is, I am a bit more laid-back, introverted and not much of a partier and think MJ’s energy would be too much for me in large doses.

So, I’d probably go with Gwen. She still knows how to have a good time, but not so much that it would wear me out, and she can bring it back down as the night goes on if needed. Plus, she’d probably be really great with casual conversation, and I’m a really good listener. I think a lot of the topics Felicia and MJ would like to talk about I wouldn’t really be able to relate to or wouldn’t interest me as much.

Tell me why I am wrong, @Still Wynning

If there's a third season it'll be more of the same. Gunn already reins it in for Superman but Peacemaker is his playground. I doubt viewership will affect that, it's always been a kind of under the radar show anyway.

Cake eater.

(Dang heck, I hate that movie.)

I wanted to see this kid get run over by a Zamboni

Stupid line. A Duncan Hines cake is like $1.25 for a box. Just add water and an egg. It ain’t like new kid’s a Rockefeller.

Stupid little twerp.
I love Emilio. But his legacy was destroyed when he made D2 and shared the screen with this idiot:
