Where was this Zimmer that should’ve worked on the Nolan and Snyder DC films? And unlike the Nolan Batman movies, he didn’t abandon the motif he wrote for Diana— he played around with it and gave it some refreshing arrangements.

I am probably waiting to listen to the FF score when I see the movie. For me, a score isn't just about the music notes themselves. It's that and the context of its use in the movie itself that gives it meaning to me. In isolation, I love the MOS score, but my attachment isn't high to it cause there isn't a scene or moment that I reflect on when I hear it. So I am sure it's great music, but I mostly care about how it works within the movie itself

That score definitely surprised me. It was really, really good. Where was this Zimmer that should’ve worked on the Nolan and Snyder DC films? And unlike the Nolan Batman movies, he didn’t abandon the motif he wrote for Diana— he played around with it and gave it some refreshing arrangements.

Would’ve liked to hear what he would’ve done for a third WW movie directed by Jenkins.
This is literally not true...

I was never a fan of the Zimmer superhero sound he imposed on the industry. If you don’t like it, tough.

He abandoned a perfectly good motif he wrote for BB and didn’t use it in the next two movies. And TDKR basically cut and pasted sections of music from the previous two movies— it was just lazy. The quality of the movies elevated the music instead of complementing it.

Give me a more traditional superhero orchestral score by Silvestri or Williams over most of Zimmer’s oeuvre any day of the week. Except WW84.

Is D23 streaming?

That’s very true about Robbie.

But then you gotta wonder, what happens if Gaga’s Harley takes off because I remember a week or two ago they were saying they wanted to push her for an Oscar next year.

But OMG Flick you’re so right about modern comedies and the Apatow effect. Just bleh!

I don't see much of push for Phoenix, so I doubt Gaga is going to be pushed onto Gunn.

I just need more comedies like Bottoms.

TDKR score is probably the most original of the bunch. There's a lot of temp tracking in it sure, but that's the case for 99% of sequels. Spider-Man 2 is notorious for this very issue. Hell that movie takes music from a completely different film series!

What motif did he abandon? The Batman theme is in all the movies. He adds others, for other characters and the general story. But the Batman theme is in every movie, with different versions.

Fun fact. WW84 literally cut and pasted a piece of music from a different Zimmer film. :hehe:
