The Superhero Cinematic Civil War - Part 60

Next year, Daredevil is my most anticipated thing period. I want FF to be good, and ya I know of all the various issues. But I don't see a world where I don't enjoy watching Charlie and Vincent do their thing.

The DD footage looked pretty awesome, but I'm definitely still on the cautious side with it. I don't want to get too excited but its honestly hard not too eventhough I know it won't come close to the OG series.

It's just great seeing these characters back after what feels like a very long time IMO and man Bernthal's Punisher being onscreen again with DD is something I've been wanting to see since Season 2 ended.

It's still kind of crazy to me that those two haven't seen each other since 2016 and I even remember really hoping he would show up in Defenders but then being really disappointed when he didn't.

White Tiger looks like a really cool addition too.

Daredevil looks exactly like I figured it would. It's got that MCU sheen all over it. Honestly seems like the most cynical Marvel project this side of Deadpool & Wolverine to me. But hey, people enjoyed that one too, so I hope y'all who are looking forward to it get what you want from it.

Ironheart looks okay. Going to be curious how they work in the mystical elements.

Yay, more characters that they think are more important than Karen and Foggy.

That Daredevil teaser looks great. I so hope they can make a worthy continuation of that character as Charlie Cox's Dardevil remains my favorite on-screen masked vigilante, but that also makes me fully aware that I can't just expect it to be as good as it was. The footage, as well as what we saw from D&W, shows that Marvel/Disney really aren't shying away from mature ratings these days. I don't think Daredevil necessarily needs a mature rating to work but in this case it's nice to see as that's the tone of the Netflix seasons.

TDKR score is probably the most original of the bunch. There's a lot of temp tracking in it sure, but that's the case for 99% of sequels. Spider-Man 2 is notorious for this very issue. Hell that movie takes music from a completely different film series!

They hired Chris Young to write music close to the temp track in SM-2 and that’s partly why he scored SM-3.

SM-3 and TDKR have an even bigger problem with temp tracking. I noticed it the first time when I saw both — and it was distracting. You hire a composer to score a big movie and part of their score is replaced by the temp track? That has to sting.

And I'm just sitting here loving the aesthetic of the Fantastic Four movie so far. The outfits are sick!

After finally watching the test footage in its entirety, I feel way more at ease about the Fantastic Four now. Like you said, the overall aesthetic is cool and makes it feel big. I hope the end result is good.

And Galactus scared the sh** out of me. That’s a step in the right direction.
