The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: Quoth the Kraven, "Nevermore." - Part 61

Watched Penguin Episode 2.

My verdict? Sublime.

Just a few random observations:

I agree with Eve - Oz is playing a very dangerous game here. I was actually on the edge of my seat worried about him for the entire episode :oldrazz:

Sofia scares the **** out of me. Seriously...

Oz's mom might be my new favourite character in any medium.

Victor is a sweet kid but I fear the worst for him. I'm wondering if he grows up to become Zsasz. I vaguely remember the character saying he stuttered as a kid in Gotham...

The version of Happy Together that closes the episode has been living rent free in my brain for hours...

It just occurred to me that this is the first time I've ever watched a comic book TV show in real time. Typically I watch Marvel/DC shows months - or usually years - after they finish their runs.

The wait for each new episode is interminable :p

I didn’t expect you to be watching this, thought you’d be too far behind lol. Great to have you on board. This show has been fully worth coming out of a hiatus for me. I don’t have time to watch anything while at home for the rest of this year so I’ve found inventive ways to fit new episodes in (like watching while running - literally holding the phone in front of me while running :D). Not 100% ideal but far better than missing out altogether. I hope you enjoy the experience of watching stuff live along with the rest of the Hype and start doing it more regularly. It makes films and shows so much more fun.

Hearing that Joker 2 is a self-indulgent, boring, pointless misfire of a film definitely bums me out a bit because I actually thought the trailers for it looked great and I'm not even a big fan of the first movie.

I never thought a sequel was a good idea though and Todd Phillips already not having a great track record when it comes to sequels was the first red flag, but I still remained somewhat optimistic for it.

Gaga being cast as HQ really got me on board, but it sounds like she's pretty much wasted in it. Oh well I still plan on seeing it this week and also rewatching the first movie at some point.

At least we still got a new episode of The Penguin to look forward to at the end of this week which should hopefully make up for it somewhat and I'm looking forward to seeing Venom 3 this month.

As dumb as that movie's going to be at least it looks fun.

I'm gonna be frank, I'm more excited for Venom 3 than Joker 2 at this point. Neither of which are in my top 3 most anticipated for the rest of the year though. Those would be Saturday Night, Gladiator II and Nosferatu.

Yeah, I could give a damn about Joker or Venom, but I’ll definitely find time to see Nosferatu when it drops.

Those spoilers about Joker tells me it’s cool for a rental.

I'm rooting for the one and true demonic clown from space this month.

I just realized, this is gonna be the fourth movie starring the Harley Quinn character that just didnt connect with the audience.

This character may go on ice after this, y'all.

His last Venom movie or his last movie as Venom? There is a big difference.

Especially if rumors about SM4 becoming a Spider-Man/Venom vs Knull movie end up being true

Shocking. A bad director made a bad sequel to a movie when he actually had to be original instead of aping everything from one of the all-time greats.
Listen. If you can't just remake Taxi Driver and miss the point, what are you suppose to do?

I still to this day dont understand why those two actresses are hated online?

The big guy, huh

Guess expected, but definitely need to have a good cry later about this. At least it was the best of times and people around the world can do their daily trilogy rewatches to give themselves hope for the future, and despite the sadness at it ending remember all the happiness it brought to so many.

I'm REALLY gonna need Last Dance to end with a post credits scene of Eddie finally meeting Tom Holland's Peter, getting into a fight but the fight being interrupted by Dakoka Johnson in red sunglasses telling them that they need to set their squabbles aside for the incoming "secret" war that is coming to tear up the multiverse.

Then she will open a portal to battleworld, the two will enter and before she herself can enter, the portal shuts abruptly with her going "well, aint that a b--"
