WBD paid him enough already.Gunn saw the reception and paid him off - tell them I had nothing to do with it.
I do love that this is a reaction to a movie that seems to be telling people they suck for liking the original. In a way, this movie is me.10.5 million dom for Joker on Saturday. Probably looking at a 35-37 million weekend. That’s worse than Morbius.
I loved The Joker, but I still think Heath Leadger was still the best Joker overall. The worst for me is Leto.I do love that this is a reaction to a movie that seems to be telling people they suck for liking the original. In a way, this movie is me.
Ledger is the best Joker, easily imo. But I think it's fair to say Phoenix has the second best performance as a character named Joker. It just didn't really have much to do with the original character. You can argue who the best joker is but several people topped Phoenix’ Joker.
No one had a sequel in their contract. That's where. So, I watched Joker 2 today and honestly, I didn't hate it. I wouldn't call it a good movie, but there was definitely stuff that I liked about it although the musical stuff just didn't work at all IMO.
Gaga was good, but damn was her character poorly written. Just a waste of her talent outside of the singing stuff which she killed but I just didn't care for whatever version of HQ this was supposed to be.
Also, after rewatching the first movie and then seeing this movie I can say that while Phoenix does a great job acting in both films I just can't get that invested in Arthur Fleck as a character.
Maybe its the writing but I can at least somewhat appreciate them trying to do something different in this film with the Asylum/Courtroom stuff because I felt like we actually got some layers to the character.
It's a real mess of a film and I can see why general audiences are hating it because it just isn't that enjoyable to watch but it was worth a one-time watch for me at the very least.
I still don't see where that $200 million dollar budget went though.
Everyone getting ready to review Joker: Folie a Deux -
Joaquin was terrific in the first movie. But it's disappointing he's never going to reach his full potential as the character without having a Batman to play off of.Ledger is the best Joker, easily imo. But I think it's fair to say Phoenix has the second best performance as a character named Joker. It just didn't really have much to do with the character.
I don't feel like Arthur is built for a Batman. If anything, a Batman would dilute the character by emphasizing how full of crap he is. Arthur isn't Mr. J, with the conviction or purpose. He's a weak man looking to blame others for what he is. Batman would crush him.Joaquin was terrific in the first movie. But it's disappointing he's never going to reach his full potential as the character without having a Batman to play off of.
This movie ain't getting to 200m WW.The weekend multiplier is going to be fascinating in where it ends up.

That’s how I see it. The acting performance is better than say Nicholson’s Joker but I love Nicholson’s a ton more.Ledger is the best Joker, easily imo. No one compares on the fun stakes.I loved Heath, all my four years of college I had his poster in all of my dorms, but…
Jack is the definitive Mistah J.

Let’s argue.

Nothing on the film side. Even before WBD, take out The Batman and they had 10 flops/disasters in a row in the last four years!Has DC had a single box office hit since the Discovery merger? The Batman came out a month before and I can't think of anything that would even remotely be considered a success since then, but it is possible I am forgetting something.
This has to be in the running for the worst film franchise in history at this point. Even Sony has the Venom films. Plus at least their flops are relatively cheap to make.Nothing on the film side. Even before WBD, take out The Batman and they had 10 flops/disasters in a row in the last four years!
