The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: Quoth the Kraven, "Nevermore." - Part 61

I don't even know what to say. I really don't.

Drizzy I have been up and had a tension headache and heartburn since 3am.

I shouldn’t be shocked, but I’m ****ing shocked.

Take care of yourselves, all. There are even darker days ahead I’m sure, but there will also be brighter ones. Eventually.

Absolutely Flick.

At least when it happened in 2016 I didn't have to go to work the next day. I got maybe 4 and a half hours sleep last night. I'm just stunned.

That's what I thought 8 years ago, but they just keep getting darker and darker

no light at the end of the tunnel when there's a brick wall
In the end, all you can do is what is under your control. I have several concerns with what the results mean, especially for my special needs child. But in the end, the world is going to keep spinning and I will have to keep waking up everyday and doing the best with the cards I have dealt to me. For myself and the family. So I am going to try and do just that. Can't dwell on the result. It is what it is. Just gotta do the best with what I can control

Amen brother. Live your life and control whats in front of you. I'm trying not to dwell on all of it myself.

I give yall with kids a lot of credit, it takes resilience to carry on with a brave face
I on the other hand, sat outside with my fiance tearfully chain-smoking all night
which is why we should not have kids, lol

Honestly, they kind of help in this sort of scenario. Cause regardless how crap things might be around us, they just wanna play and watch Paw Patrol or something lol! It's a good distraction

Do you have to watch the other Transformers movies before it to follow Transformers One?
Nope!

I'll say the first half is too silly for its own good with some half baked ideas, but the second half goes hard in the paint.

So I've decided to keep the CBM theme going throughout the Holiday Season this year. Not sure about ya'll but I could really use a distraction right about now :yay:

Unsurprisingly, the list of Holiday-themed comic book movies is much more manageable than the horror list:

Batman Returns (1992): Quite possibly the OG Christmas comic book movie. My personal favourite Tim Burton film (hell, one of my favourite movies, period).

Iron Man 3 (2013): I've only seen this once and remember not liking it very much. Curious to see how it holds up on re-watch...

Shazam! (2019): I found this delightful upon first viewing but I suspect it will land differently now, considering everything that's come to light regarding its lead in the intervening years...

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018): Hey, it's even got a Christmas EP tie-in consisting of five festive tunes performed by cast members!

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2022): Duh.

Once Upon a Deadpool (2018): Never saw this but whatever, it fits the theme...

Edward Scissorhands (1990): Okay I'm cheating a bit with this one. Not technically a comic book movie, it's my second favourite Tim Burton film and there have been licensed comic books. Plus I haven't seen it in years so I'm due for a re-watch :yay:

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021): Only tangentially related to Christmas but the closing scenes do show some cheerful seasonal imagery so that's good enough for me...

Truth be told, I'm not feeling particularly 'festive' these days with everything that's been happening on the world stage, plus dear friends both on and off line receiving bad news in the past couple months. However, I'm a firm believer in not giving into despair so the show must go on :hrt:
