The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: Quoth the Kraven, "Nevermore." - Part 61

Denzel has never really gone into full horror in any of his movies, but those Equalizer movies might as well be slashers at this point.

May be a hot take but I did very much like Equalizer 3 but I felt like the ending was anti climactic and unremarkable. I dunno, I remember wanting...more out of the ending than what we got. It seemed like it was over before it began.

The ending made the movie for me, definitely an upgrade over 2.

Unless they fumble the landing hard, this is the best season of the show imo. Going out on such a high note.
Wow, I was hoping they would tie things up nicely knowing in advance that it was the final season, but I didn't expect it to have a shot of being the best season. I need to find a way to access this asap!

I’m catching up on the latest season (on episode 3) and yes I wholeheartedly agree Hoechlin is the best Clark we’ve ever had. He does a great job at capturing Clark’s altruistic values and wholesomeness but also adding a layer of weight, vulnerability and inner turmoil that is refreshing. And he can do it without being overly brooding like Snyder/Cavill’s version. He’s come a LONG way since the Supergirl days.

I just finished watching Deadpool & Wolverine for the second time ever (thanks Disney+) and it is still a ball of brainless fun, IMO.

However, I’m watching the Assembled doc about the movie and EVERY time Shawn Levy talks, I’m just like:

There’s something very fake about him that I don’t like.

Finally watch Deadpool & Wolverine. I really did not enjoy it that much. Some good bits, but the pacing was horrendous. Also, I dislike any tying into Loki. The action was a huge step down. And its to the point where I have to question whether getting Russos is actually a step up over Levy.

He truly cemented this last night imo. :supes: :hrt:

The best yet to play this character in 86 years.

When Marv Wolfman gives you this level of praise on a superhero show, it means something. He knows a thing or fifty about the genre.

And he’s 1000% right. Every time I think that Hoechlin and Tulloch can’t get any better, they raise the bar again.

Man, I am going to miss them in these roles.

The fact that Tulloch didn’t get an Emmy nom for Lois’ cancer arc last season and those performances she gave is a damn crime.

But I concur, these two and the actors playing their sons made magic in four seasons together.

Very underrated show.

Agreed
Is it some great piece of "cinema"? No. But its still undeniably enjoyable
And Hugh Jackman really did not have to go so hard. Apparently nobody told him "acting" wasn't required for these types of movies :hehe:
