The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: Quoth the Kraven, "Nevermore." - Part 61

If anyone else in the US likes to wait for collected editions and/or omnibuses like myself and has not yet discovered CheapGraphicNovels.Com or InStockTrades, I highly recommend checking those out to save a ton of cash. I lean toward CGN but both have great deals and are generally waaaay cheaper than you’ll find on Amazon.

I will keep this in mind! There's a few things I have been eye balling, so maybe will check it out when I get some Birthday money!
Yeah definitely recommend instocktrades.com. In addition to the already big discounts they have free shipping over $50 and deals of the week for certain new releases. I got the recent Supergirl: Woman of Tommorow hardcover for 50% off the normal price.

The one disclaimer I will add is that their shipping times are much slower than Amazon, so that’s the trade-off, but they package them up SO much more safely and securely than Amazon, with all the money I’m saving it’s very much worth it imo.

That doesn't matter as much to me unless I am liking buying something to read for a specific vacation or something lol

As much as I love Keaton and Batman '89, I do believe it's one of those movies where you could swap out the two leads and still got a great movie anyway. Baldwin could have worked as Batman just like Robin Williams or Willem Dafoe or Tim Curry could have worked as Joker.

Respectfully disagree about Joker bro. What made Jack so distinctive is that of all his roles (besides the Shining), he wasn’t acting when he played Mistah J. :o

But Dafoe though...

Speaking of, the closest we ever got to any kind of Marvel movie crossover back in those days:

Ah yes back when we thought Marvel would be on top of the world. Then we got Bryan Singer forcing himself on underage actors, Venom forced on Raimi, Shrek Hulk vs Mutant Poodles, and Ben Affleck as Daredevil. :o

Hi..thanks for the recommendation.
Are those two sites accept international shipping and credit card or paypal payment outside the US, though?

I am too...I haven't bought many TPBs anymore for the last 3 or 4 years (the last book I purchased was Marvel's King in Black)
With the crazy global inflation right now, the price for American TPBs has becoming more and more expensive especially when the price had been converted from USD to JPY 😐

Instocktrades does have international shipping.

As venom said, InStockTrades has international shipping; I don't think CGN does though.

Do you remember the first comic that hooked you?
The first comic that I ever got was a silver age Wonder Woman comic that I got in a drawing out of a toy closet in kindergarten. I thought I had hit the lottery.

But the first comic that hooked me as a 10 or 11 year old was a Marvel Tales comic that was a Spider-Man/Thor team up that I got in my Christmas stocking. I think that I read that thing 50 times. The next summer I did a lot of odd jobs and made enough money to buy subscriptions to Amazing Spider-Man and Wolverine for the next year.

I collected until high school when I got distracted by playing sports and flirting with girls. But then I started back up in college when I went all-in on DC as Knightfall was going on and Death of Superman had just happened.

I know this wasn't directed to me, but wanted to answer cause you might get a kick out of this cause Shinobi Shaw is in it. This wasn't the first comic I ever got but it's the first that I have a distinct memory of getting Christmas 1993 morning in my stocking. I had no idea what was going on lol but was hooked by the character designs and Kubert art.

The first comic that I can recall reading over and over was Marvel Team Up Number One - one of my favorite comic series and also the inspiration for Spidey’s solo flicks in the MCU - which was released in 1972 but I read in an old timey collection after I came down on Christmas Morn to see this oversized beauty under the tree.

Picture 1 of 1

The story contained within was a wonderfully written Christmas tale by Roy Thomas involving Spidey and Johnny spending Christmas Eve in the flying bathtub searching for Sandman, saving Misty Knight (retroactively considered her first appearance) from ne’er do wells in the process and both Flint and our heroes showing compassion for each other on the holiday. I’ve read it again recently and it really holds up. It remains one of my all time favorite comic books.
