The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: Quoth the Kraven, "Nevermore." - Part 61

I would laugh but I don't skip movies

I generally agree on three of the four (How dare you besmirch Jack Black?!)

But also, the Jumanji's were perfectly fun movies, c'mon now

Guy who is Bored, I grew up on Jumanji. If Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst aren’t in it running from an assortment of exotic animals from a board game, then it ain’t Jumanji! Those were cash grabs from Sony starring Shallow Hal.

Thanks for coming to my Monday morning Ted Talk. :o

I don't know how the original Jumanji holds up anymore, but outside of a joke or two I'd rather not have seen both of the modern ones are easily among the best blockbusters of the 2010s and and easily among the best pure comedies I've ever seen regardless of era.

Not to mention still the best video game movies ever made.

The 2017 Jumanji reboot was fun, I was more bored by the next one, which definitely needed way more Danny DeVito and Danny Glover.

You know that I always respect your opinions…but…

I hate to break this to you, but the Robin Williams Jumanji kind of sucked. And the newer ones are better. At least the first of the new ones was better.

I heard, but I just can't bring myself to watch it Drizzy.

That combo of Black-ish Adam and Kevin Hart makes me go:

Et tu Uncle Brute?

LOL Nah but you had to be a 90s kid to love and appreciate OG Jumanji. When I was 5 I had the picture book, the board game, I loved that damn movie.

Admittedly, it probably has to do with the fact that I was in college when the original Robin Williams Jumanji came out. So I didn’t grow up with it.

Well when you were a kid, Spider-Man looked like this:

But you over here judging Jumanji smh LOL.

The 2017 Jumanji is actually well done despite the weak villain. Someone actually wrote a comedic script and didn't adlib every 5 seconds.

I grew up with it too, and love me some Robin Williams
But I thought the new ones were at least respectful of the original, plus they were the best live action "Video Game" productions we had up until that point
And Jack Black as a teenage girl is amazing, sorry not sorry.. Karen Gillan looks absolutely gorge... and even D-Wayne and Mr. Hart were tolerable for once

I stand behind my earlier comment that Central Intelligence is a great comedy film.

Ehh. But then again I never watched it so I can't judge.

I just never cared for Kevin Hart since I saw him live a million years ago in 2012 at Essence Fest. The most unfunniest thing I ever paid full price for. :really:

I haven't seen it personally, but how is it possible to have one of the biggest films last year, one of the most successful sequels ever made, an extremely well-received movie, both by audience and critics, one that was supposed to be released this year and have zero news on when it will be out after all?

Because after so many strikes they realized they have to actually let the animators have personal lives and they have no idea how long it's going to take to finish it now?

I'm 100% not a fan of Hart or Johnson at all, but both of them (especially Johnson) are actually solid in Jumanji.

And refusing to watch it for that reason is really missing out because Jack Black and Karen Gillan are absolutely fantastic in it.
